By the end of their respective careers, Alexander Ovechkin will have more goals and points then Sidney Crosby, HOWEVER Crosby will be looked at as being the better player, unfortunately.
-
If anyone here thinks Mac is going to supply the Wings with secondary scoring, im sorry, he wont. He's just going to instill some energy into this team and bring another dimension of play, along with butts in the seats at the joe.
-
haha poor Florida..
-
I saw the highlights from this game too - he's a solid goaltender fundamentally and looks really smooth out there. He definitely could be a keeper, maybe even the second coming of Luongo for the Panthers.

AO is by far the best player in the World right now IMO. I've always been a fan of his rather then Criesby. Although Malkin is a ridiculous player too, I'd hate to see what the two of them could do on a team together. Yikes.

Avery breaks off contract talks with Rangers

He's not worth 2.5 a year anywhere. And I really don't want him here -
Do it kenny! He's such a crucial part of this team

I have to disagree with that statement about them eating up the clock. As a coach or a team, you never put out a line to "eat up clock." Each line has a purpose, and Maltby/Draps/Drake are out there to grind down the opposition. You always need a few guys out there to strike a little fear into the other team, otherwise they start taking liberties and playing without fear. As a hockey player, you always have in the back of your mind that you could be getting hit. But once you get comfortable and feel that the other team isn't going to hit, you play a much more open style and by doing so, create more chances. Plus, every guy needs to have a role - and the three of them are solid on the PK. Also, not everyone is blessed with a scoring touch lol so they take on the role of agitator to make up where they lack. But yeah, don't ever think guys are being sent out to eat up clock, its not really about that

Finallllllly great game!
-
Wow, thats phenomenal. Congrats to him!

Well, finally we saw a period of Red Wings hockey. They actually played like they used to for once. This should be a good 3rd, I hope they don't sit back on this lead. Rather they should just keep on attacking and keep being aggressive. Kronner - Wow is he valuable to us. Lilly Pad...well, that was on heck of a save. And Dom...finally playing like Dom. Awesome.
-
LMAO DOM!!!! that was great! And no penalty! Plus he stood on his head there for a few saves, thats exactly what this team needed. I think his shenanigans there near the end will lighten the mood too, you know every one of those Wings guys were cracking up deep down watching him do that. Heck, he was all smiles going off the ice haha

can you imagine...... I think my heart just stopped haha

I am almost certain you are correct. The day after the Stanley Cup finals, you can begin to make trades. Its July 1st for Free Agency though.
-
Wow I am glad we didn't make that deal.

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/20...in_buffalo.html he SHOULD be back. And that would be great, definitely miss him on the PP
-
lol umm random?
-
And I thought they said Lids has started skating so he'll be back in a week or so right? Maybe a lil longer for Chelly? Man I can't wait til our blueline is solid again.
-
Hey why the heck not?? He plays the kind of game that allows him to usually stay healthy and not take a beating. He could play well into his 40's for sure if he chooses.
-
But what if Chelly want to stick around another year???? Could bump Meech back down...
-
This is a nice shot in the a** for the wings. They need this, he'll instill some life into this team.
-
I've never really given this thought...but now that I really think about it, you could be on to something.
-
Great GDT as always Stuart is #23 btw Wings will win - Stuart and Kronner will give them a huge boost
-
I think thats because outside of Hockeytown, most people see Detroit as having a ton of injuries but being one of, if not the best team in the NHL once everyone returns. I think most of us Wings fans have been in slight panic mode lately (and for good reason) while the rest of the league figure's the Wings will be just fine very soon.

He won't ONCE the whole defensive corps is back. Right now, Sammy still holds a spot with Lids and Raffy out. But once they're back, you'll see Lids/Raffy and Stuart/Kronner on the PP
