Who Wears the "C" after Lidstrom
Redwingsfan18 replied to LIDSTROM-YZERMAN4PRESIDENT's topic in General
Who the hell is Liddy? Why don't you call him Nicky while your at it. Anyways - it'll be Z. wait. ITLL BE Z!!! -
I could have made this list up - Eklund is just stating the obvious. I still don't get why many of the fine folks on this site still go to his page I haven't gone there in over 5 years and never will with all the crap he comes up with. Regardless, I think all these guys will end up somewhere. The guy who stands out to me is Brendon Morrison. If I was a GM, this is one of those kids I think just needs a change of scenery and could help out a team a lot. He had it made on Vancouver, when they had a solid team a few years ago, and I think he's just lost his way there. If the Wings were lacking or needed someone, I'd hope they'd go after him. No idea where he ends up though, thats for sure - he could fit in a lot of places. Guy's like Shanahan, Peca and Recchi will end up somewhere as time goes on to fill a veteran void. I wouldn't be surprised if one of those or even two end up in the Central with Chicago or Columbus - two teams with lots of youth and minimal veteran presence. Everyone on that list will end up somewhere, most are quality players.

No surprise here. Hopefully it's not a ridiculous offer - however I wouldn't mind losing Flip and signing Hossa instead. Obviously theres no guarantee we sign Hossa after this season but without Fils salary it would definitely open up the cash needed. If Vancouver offers him some ridiculous amount then forget it - but I don't think they're THAT stupid to offer up that much. What would we get in return btw?

haha. Family Guy is the best!

Most hockey players will shorten their teammates names and put a "y" on the end. Unless its already short then they just give them a different nickname. I'm going to guess they're going to call him Hossy (hoe-see) but who knows.
-
haha, at what time did you call your brother
-
Yeah, I heard this or read this somewhere yesterday online. No surprise - it'll probably be a two way deal
-
Hey if he can walk on water, just think what he can do on ice!
-
Maybe Jagr will go there for cheap as well just to win a cup?? Sike.
-
Let's not get ahead of ourselves, its very difficult to win back to back championships. But yeah, another "soft" euro on our team, how will we ever win I just don't feel bad for either of those two
-
mlive Oh well.
-
I think he was being sarcastic.. at least I hope so
-
I die a little bit each time I read or hear that.
-
I remember when we wanted him back in the day. Thank goodness we didn't get him.

looks like they just merged em' Ok, time to get Sundin or Hossa for a year. A year long rental sounds good to me.

Wings out of picture for Sundin, Hossa, Rolston
Redwingsfan18 replied to Redwingsfan18's topic in General
Well, Rolston's nabbed up at a price the Wings couldn't afford. -
Link? Eh, thats fine. Didn't have my heart set on him coming here anyways.

I'm just the messenger in this case - but if Hossa would accept the one year deal I'm sure the Wings will still be in. Same with Sundin. Its the deals that go more then a year that is scaring the Wings off -
Ah CRAP Chicago is officially good. I can see it now. Central Standings 1. Detroit 2. Chicago
-
If Sundin only wanted money - he'd be in Vancouver already after that ridiculous offer. So I'm going to say he's going to take a few days, or at least the rest of today, to mull over offers and pick his spot. Hossa I think is waiting to see what Sundin gets and then is going to try to get near the same that he does since he probably believes he's equally as valuable and doesn't want to get "cheated" on his pay. Bertuzzi will take what he can that gives him security and a chance to win. Probably won't be long before he's signed somewhere. Rolston will wait til he hears from Detroit for certain that he won't be signed here since it was reported (I think) that he would like to come here. He has the right to take his time though, teams would love his services. As for everyone else - they'll probably take the most money/security they get and sign as soon as they can.

St. James: Sundin, Bertuzzi on radar, Rolston not
Redwingsfan18 replied to 40#1Fan's topic in General
I'll take Bert for cheap. I liked how he played here and I think Holland did too. For the right price, sign him up. -
Solid signing. Conklin was good for Pittsburg and will give Jimmy Howard a run for his money. I like Jimmy as much as the next Wings fan but if he isn't ready to step up and win the job then I definitely don't want it handed to him

Very excited that we got him resigned. I was thinking he was long gone. Now the thought of him and Kronner on that blueline for a while makes me very happy
