I'd rather have Hossa then Flipper. However I hope we don't go throwing money at Hossa either - he didn't exactly play stellar in the finals. Great offensive threat but it doesn't mean it'll work. I'd rather worry about keeping Franzen and Zets

Good pick. You can never have enough solid goaltending prospects. There's only one spot in net and when you have solid prospects, they work even harder to compete and win the position. Good pick, not great, but good.

I just kind of had a thought about how the NHL formats the Stanley Cup Finals as compared to both the World Series and NBA Finals. For those of you who may live under a rock, the SC Finals go 2-2-1-1-1 - with the top seed playing at home for games 1,2,5 and 7. In the MLB and NBA, in their Championship Series, their formats are 2-3-2, with the top seed playing games 1,2,6 and 7 at home. My question to everyone is should the NHL change the format to be like the other two leagues? If you think about it, it has its positives and negatives but I really wanted to see what everyone's opinion on this was.

Don't worry, I don't think Bettman has proposed this or any one has. It was just something that came to mind while watching the NBA finals this year. To be honest, I'm totally neutral to the idea because in one way, you have game 6 and 7 at home, but if you lose one of the first two, your kind of screwed (like the Tigers in 06').

I'm not going to say a word - except lets not try to start a religious war of words here lol. Believe what you want but lets not even start.

He knows he's a depth d-man, he's said it before. He just wants to play and knows what all of us do - that you can't have too many d-men. Plus if we can rotate him in, you can give guys a breather every few games or if someone's struggling, you know you have a solid vet in the waiting. Besides, I think he was really tiring out at the end of the playoffs there and thats why he'll take a part time roll if it means another SC.

Now that he's retired, he can be introduced to both McDonalds and Beer.

When Yzerman scored in double OT in game 7 against St. Louis in 96, that was loud. Or, better yet, when they won the cup in 97 and 02...the instants the goal horn sounded it erupted with more energy. But yeah Raffy's goal was wild and had the place rockin for sure

Once Kenny signs Z and Franzen to extensions I think he'll make a splash and sign Sergei Fedorov Actually Feds might not be a bad idea at the right price but I'd like to see Sundin here. Expensive or not, he's motivated to win and with the Swedes he'll fit in. I like the idea of having him on the second PP too

I just read this and laughed too. I can't believe he'd suggest that. Yeah he's one of the greats but we're not freaking Colorado here and he's not Ray Borque. Honestly, Dom will be in the HHOF and probably will go in as a Wing b/c he won 2 cups - but no way do the Wings retire his number. Oh Drew, don't write about hockey anymore..

That was a big time stretch. I know when your surrounded by tons of people, you can feel like theres more then there really are. If I had to guess, I'd say there was somewhere arond 500k-700k down there. 1.4 million just seems ridiculous. There was parking to be had EVERYWHERE, even just a block away from Woodward and 3 blocks from Hart Plaza around 11:30 (yeah I got there late) and I really expected there to be a problem with that. But then again, if you take all the folks that left their jobs at one point or another to stop in (i.e. my father) then you'll definitely get up in the 1.4+ range easily. Good thing they didn't specify
