Let's see... The Tigers won a WS in 1935 and the Lions won a Championship as well, while the Wings won a SC in 35-36...but I'm not sure if that counts as the same year.. If you want to count U of M as Detroit area - the Wings and Wolverines both won in 97' But sticking to our 4 major sports.. Wings won in 51'-52' and 53'-54', while the Lions won in 52' and 53' Other then that, they've all been spread out

You can't say he has no heart. Sometimes injuries just prevent you from performing at your best. If this is something that is going to hinder him as a player then he's better off not playing. Plus we really don't know whats wrong with him, so you can't say he has no heart - you can't feel his pain.

I'd have to agree with you - the defense of the Wings is going to stifle Pittsburg. Remember how NJ shut down our wings in 95' with the trap? You hit a solid defense and before you know it, you change your gameplan and you lose.

I was there too and I couldn't agree more. The Wings missed the net every other shot and when they did hit the net, they were terrible shots that my grandmother could stop. It's ridiculous to think Turco won game 5 for his team, because the Wings basically handed it to him. Tonight he will be exposed for the phony he is.

Hey...I'm as mad as anyone but let's stop whining about the refs. We got on all the Stars fans' asses for whining about the officiating and now we're doing the same. The stat that matters says we're up 3-1 in the series with two home games to their one. I still like our chances better then theirs.

Calmense todo lol Seriously though, it's one bad call and yes it was a terrible one that was blown, but right now, we're only down 1-0, we have 20 min left and, needless to say, a 3-0 series lead. The pressure really isn't on us right now, it's on them. And with pressure comes the probability of mistakes - so look for our boys to cash in on them and smack O'Halloran right in the face with his bad call GO WINGS

Yep. He may want his sun-belt teams to do well, but nothing rakes in the money like Hockeytown versus the "savior" of the NHL. Basically you've got the two biggest hockey markets going head to head there - Detroit against Canada

Classy I think the biggest thing is we should thank you for having Marty Turco since we own him. Maybe Dallas should invest in a goaltender who only plays against the Wings?

This was Dallas' best hockey and Detroit dominated them. Thing of beauty it was. Go Wings!

1) Commercial time, for sure. 2) Not for me, I'd love to be there. I'm a college student though who can afford a Tigers ticket but not a Wings one, it sucks.

It's all good - Franzen has basically put the team on his back offensively and done the job. Now its time for Homer to do his thing, along with Zets and Dats. Ozzie is doing his part as well, so no worries. Franzen is a work horse (mule actually ) and he'll be back asap. And since we won tonight, at least if he's out for game 3 the pressure is on them, not us.

Yeah, but you have to play 40 games in order to get your name on it, or play in at least one game in the Finals. However, the management can have your name engraved, i.e. Maxim Kuznetsov in 02' when he only played 39.

I think Mac brings an essence of leadership to the team, while Drake has something to prove. Malts is a good penalty killer but he doesn't do much more. He agitates now and then but anyone of us here can make a "yo momma" joke. In reality, the lineup is fine and I'm not surprised Malts is out, esp with the play of Helm.
