I agree but Abs sounds like, well, the abs you find on your stomach and unless his are like rock hard or something incredible, that would be a really odd nickname. I know hockey players love to shorten a last name in half, then add a Y or an S to it - keep it short and sweet - but for him I think you'll hear them say "Kaders" before "Abs." Definitely could be wrong though lol

This list is just..umm..stupid. Seriously, if it's based on toughness, you shouldn't be allowed to put a Golfer at #1. In fact, as a hockey player, I've done my share of golfing and I do it because its the exact opposite of hockey - calming and slow. Also, toughness is in the eye of the beholder. People would call Tiger Woods tough because he played 4 times a week and walks all the time. I would say no and call someone like, oh, Stevie Y tough because he played on a bumb knee for most of his career and almost scored 700 goals. That's tough

The Wings will be fine! Everyone here is so pessimistic. They're playing much more timid so they don't get hurt, thats all. First game of the playoffs, if they look as bad as they did tonight, then panic people.

The Wings did not throw the game tonight, they just got outplayed in every aspect and looked terrible. Sure they're playing slightly timid but you shouldn't throw games in pro sports, it ruins the integrity. Regardless, if he was really there, he was doing his job and scouting a "potential" match up. He can't sit back and wait til the last day, it'll be too late.

Yeah, Z's probably just fine - but with his history of back issues, why not give him a night off. Let Mac play!

I'd love to have the clip of his first shift, thats for sure. I heard he started the game with Malts and Draps so I'd love to see that. But I think the O came when they announced his name, right? Either way, I'd take both if I could lol

haha I can definitely try to use my imagination...I was there when Stevie came back from that major knee surgery a few years ago (the last one) and I remember us all giving him a thunderous ovation, it was amazing. Still, I'd love to have a vid of Mac's return

I'm sure he doesn't like it but will wear it regardless. Once you hurt a part of your face severely (nose, jaw, etc) it always stays a little tender. I'm sure come next season, being the warrior that he is, he'll take it off. But for now, even if he could take it off, he'd leave it on just in case someone pops him in front of the net or Sammy decides he's going to shoot the puck 5 feet off the ice towards the net again..

My lineup is as follows; Franzen - Zetts - Clears Flipper - Datsyuk - Homer Maltby - Draper - McCarty Drake - Huds - Samantha Kopecky / Downey for reserves I don' think the lines really need explaining. I put Mac in the lineup over Downey because I think he'll provide more leadership and presence on the ice. I like Downey but I don't think he fits in unless guys start taking runs at our stars, then the next game he steps in. I like that lineup for some reason. The first two lines score, the 3rd gets under your skin and the 4th should get limited ice time

I haven't seen enough of him on offense to say whether or not he is good enough to make the switch and stay there. While it is easier for D-men to make the transition to offense, rather then vice versa, it's still not easy. He could be a great defensive forward though if he toughens up and plays a Draper or Maltby style of game. Those two ain't gonna play forever so it would be nice to have another version of them waiting in the wings. Plus, the thing with switching positions, is that if another team needs a d-man, they may want Meech. Just because he's a Wings prospect doesn't mean he won't get his big shot somewhere else. I think it would be smart for him to stay at defense however it's not completely foolish to try out offense and find a niche.
