Go back and watch the second goal that Talbot scored. That was purely Hudler's fault because he can't play defense worth s***.
-
How quickly everyone forgets how badly Hudler sucks. Remember he was the reason we lost Game 7 against Pittsburgh 1 year ago. Everyone was happy to see him leave for Russia then... But now he's gonna be the saviour for next year's team.
-
about who?? Hudler. I guarantee that Hudler will score 55-65 points but will have a +/- of atleast -10. By November or December everyone will hate him.
-
Hudler is crap. He'll be the most hated player on this board 3 months into the season. Kronwall has regressed mightily the last 2 years and it has nothing to do with injuries. He's just plain bad handling the puck. Miller- 4th line plugger. Maybe 25 points. Eaves- 3rd line plugger. Hopefully 35-40 points. Helm- 3rd line checker. Hopefully 45 points and better on faceoffs. Abdelkader- 4th line wannabee fighter. Hopefully 35 points and not beat up too many times. Those last 4 players aren't going to be the guys that get us over the hump this year, the year after or 10 years down the road.
-
We're gonna be the same team but older that needed 7 games to beat Phoenix and got beat by San Jose in 5. We would have gotten dismantled by Chicago. Howard is still between the pipes after the chokejob in the playoffs. I have lots to look forward to for next year.

Not enough to be competitive anymore.
-
Lidstrom is top 5 no doubt, but not close to Shore, Orr, or Harvey.
-
Ever heard of Harold Ballard before? He basically cursed them with all the stupid s*** he did in the 70's and 80's. Every good young player they had he traded for absolutely nothing. Sittler, Lanny McDonald etc.,

Keith should win the Norris this year... how is he not important to the Hawks? As for the 2008 comment, that's completely wrong. In 2008 we didn't have to give Filpulla top 6 minutes. In 2008 we thought that Filpulla would be good as soon as he got more minutes. In 2008 we still had Sammy, Hudler, Cleary was playing way better, Drake was a force in the playoffs, Draper and Maltby could still play, Helm was playing on the 4th line. In 2010 we don't have Sammy, Cleary is coming off pretty bad injuries the last 2 years, Helm is now on the 3rd line out of necissity, Abdelkader hasn't taken Drake's spot yet, and Draper and Maltby are both pretty much done. So I'd say it's like this in terms of depth: 2009>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2008>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2010

I wouldn't go that far. I'm not too optimistic about next year right now. We don't have close to the depth up front that we had in 2008, and 2009. Zetterberg and Datysuk are both getting older, and it may have showed last year. Franzen blew a knee, who knows how he plays next year.... This team with Lidstrom playing for 6+ million will not be a cup contender next year. I can guarantee. Hudler will not be the difference. I'm gonna get in trouble for saying this, but I think Holland is vastly overrated by Wings fans and deals like this prove it. Holland hasn't done a single thing besides sign long term deals with players exiting their prime that may have possibly neglected the future of the Red Wings.

Key part of his post is where it says '...and if Mason actually got ran." If Mason flopped like Vokoun did the player would probably get a facewash or something.

^^^^^^^^^^^^ Wears a tinfoil hat IMO

Bit of an exaggeration imo. Gretzky did alot on the international stage during his career.

Toughest NHL area for visiting teams to play in
GONGSHOW HOCKEY replied to FunkedUp's topic in General
Vancouver has too many straight off the boat zipperheads that sit on their hands to be an intimidating arena for the visiting team. -
Did you read my post? DEPTH. USA hockey slappys have been proclaiming all year that USA has as much depth as Canada does. Canada has 6 players on the WHC team that could have played on the WJC team this year.

kinda surprised that Detroit made the list since there is always so many empty seats in the building. -
facepalm Canada's best players rarely attend this tournament but we've medaled the last 7 years. What I'm trying to say is that because of Canada's depth of amazing hockey players we routinely run show in this tournament and because USA has no depth they routinely finish in 5th or 6th in this tournament. I also laughed at the fact that so many Americans think they're creating as much depth as we are, but then USA loses in OT to freakin Germany 2-1.
-
Ya, so are Canada's. All I've heard is that USA was creating as much depth as Canada... kids are getting drafted from Cali blah blah blah Really this tournament is all about depth and proves that you aint got any of it. I mean come on, Matt Gilroy???
-
So USA's idea that they were somehow going to 'takeover' hackey () has come to an end very prematurely. Lasted all of 4-5 months.

Phoenix is selling out games and they still can't turn a profit on a per game basis. Hockey doesn't belong in the desert. It will be interesting to see if Phoenix moves back to their rightful home in Winnipeg, Bettman will have to admit that his experiment was wrong to do so. He's ego is too big to do that imo -
Besides the fact that he's 3 years younger, is putting up just as many points as Hudler in his second season in the NHL, and plays with a chip on his shoulder that the Wings could really need.

How many players from Team USA would have made Team Canada?
GONGSHOW HOCKEY posted a topic in General
No flame. Miller obviously would have been there over Fleury. Parise probably would have been given a good shot at the team by Yzerman and co. That's about all imo -
Kenny Holland should have around 4-5 million to play with this offseason. Who would you like to see him go out and get?? I wouldn't mind Colby Armstrong, also wouldn't mind the Wings sending an offer sheet to Bobby Ryan. Kyle Wellwood is a guy that has good value for the price he gets paid as well.
