I'm hoping Abby, Bert, or E step up to him if he keeps playing reckless. Nothing better than taking their top player off the ice for 5 min. You might argue that it would give the Yotes energy, but I'd take anything that makes Doan tone down his physical play. -

Just what you would expect from Perry. He tries to instigate a fight with a smaller player, but when SOB comes in to fight, Perry acts innocent. Good to see there were offsetting penalties on the play.

I'm hoping someone will go after Perry, especially being down, after his antics last game.

I could see Modano taking Miller's spot. While Miller has been awesome on the PK, that line is begging for someone with more offense to make it a scoring threat.

If the Wings are still playing the Coyotes (or if they move on to another team like them), I would like to see the Abby line stay as the third line when Z comes back. That line is the only one the Wings have that can physically wear down the opponent and produce offensively (if they get it going again. While the Helm line also hits and forechecks hard, they don't get as much time and their hitting just isn't as ferocious.

Cleary's expression on the bench after the goal is priceless. Hopefully there is a sea of red of there tomorrow. EDIT- a sea of red in Phoenix.

I heard he was a bit swollen/cut from the fight, but you're right- I don't see him shying away from anything with the way he plays (which is awesome). I was also a bit surprised to see that quote from Murray.

I'm pretty sure Clifford is still banged up from this, so it is unlikely he'll be looking for a fight.

Saw this quote on another site. The first game (hopefully) will be interesting.

Agree. Was the fight needed for the Wings to win? Probably not. But it certainly continued the swing of momentum in Detroit's favor and this momentum helped win the game. Also, the fight asserted that the Wings won't be intimidated by Phoenix 's physical play.

If Wings fans do stay away, the arena won't be full. This is just sad for Phoenix. Hopefully the Wings fans will be out in full force, wearing red.

With anyone but Doan I would agree. However, Doan checks to hurt and is there best player. The Wings need to wear him down, and getting him off the ice is a plus. I can see only calling Abby, but I doubt there would be many complaints of both were taken. -

Taking two penalties is bad, but his physical play is desperately needed in this series. It looked to me like Modano was slated to take Miller's spot just from the lines. -

I liked how Abby hit him after he tried to run a Wing. I'm fine with just hitting back for now since the Wings are up, but Doan does need to be held accountable.
