I missed the first, what's the score? Also, I can't get the chat window to appear. Anyone have any suggestions (firefox isn't prompting me that I'm missing a plug-in)?
-
It's actually spelled SMASHVILLE!

I guess this follows the thought that Flip should be a 60+ point player- everyone wants him to be one, some labeled him as such, but it likely isn't going to happen. For a guy whose never had more than 7 fights in a season, people here are really reaching. Thank you for streaming the games. I need to start watching the Griffins again, especially to see Nyquist.

After Dats got in a fight this year, I'm all for everyone knowing how to fight. Not that he should ever be looking for it, but sometimes your hand is forced. Dats and Boogard have spent some time together, so I'm sure Dats got some tips. Also, boxing is supposed to be a very good way to condition. If I'm not mistaken, Abby took the lessons while at MSU taking classes, so it was probably just another way to work out while away from Detroit. Agree. I'm all for Abby fighting more, but I don't understand why he is always singled-out. Nothing he has done in his career suggests he is an enforcer, in any sense of the word. Also, not including preseason, Eaves has the same amount of NHL fights as Abby.

On the M-Live article, Dat's had a (typical) funny quote- “I hope so I play a few games before the playoffs. I watched too much this season. I'm tired of watching TV. I want to be on TV.''
-
I liked this quote from Howard as well as the one from Mursak.

So Carkner could give him a concussion in another uniform?
-
Seriously? Sweet goal for Boston on the 3v5.
-
That's what the visor is for If he ditched the lid and fought Lucic, I'd give him a lot of respect. "Six pack for Boston, bottoms up!" And the penalty fest beings.
-
I can see White or Moen trying to get McQuaid to go. Otherwise, I'm not sure there will be any other fights. I'd love to see Subban try to take on Lucic.
-
Mara used his height advantage and didn't look to interested in opening up.
-
Does Montreal not remember this?
-
Subban doesn't start fights with people, people start fights with Subban.
-
This is the last time they play this season FWIW.

New NHL. 3-0 B's now.
-
Go B's! I hate hearing the oley chant. I love the 'someone call 911 poster' they showed.

Chara has been terrible at handling the puck tonight.

If there was major doubt, I think Holland would have pursued a trade more actively. Even if Osgood was healthy now, he would still have few games to get back in to shape, especially since he would likely the backup. Therefore, Osgood wouldn't likely have gotten more than ~5 games even if he was on track for mid/late March since Jimmy would still need to play to be ready for the playoffs.
-
To be fair, I don't know anyone who can predict months in advance when they will be healthy after a surgery. For the past few weeks, you might be able to put it on Osgood, but March has always been the target and this was likely predicted by the doctors. If anything, Osgood was given this general date and strived for it, despite not actually being ready.

I thought Abby and Mursak had particularly strong games. Helm's line also played well, and they've been the only consistent performers in the past month. the first two lines just don't have enough firepower with the injuries. The Modano line that was great the other night didn't play as well. Miller is also looking a bit slower to me for some reason. All in all, if this is a bad night for the Wings, their bad nights are improving.
-
The puck was rolling. Isn't Modano old enough to still be using a wood stick? He's got the old CCM skates, why not add in the old wodoie?
-
I'm glad others have noticed. My old roommate and I couldn't get through a Vancouver game without mentioning it. I wonder if he changes all of the Canuck's socks?

As a Canucks fan, do you ever hear that Loo looks like the butler from Mr. Deeds? I've always thought there is a strong resemblance.
-
He's the butler for Mr. Deeds. No lie.
