The Bruins can be, but the past few months they haven't played very tough. The Leafs have the most physical fourth line in hockey, but the rest of their forwards aren't particularly tough.

I like the Bruins, but I'm pulling for the Leafs in the series. Good start to the first game. Leafs up 1-0.

I'm not sure it you have participated in the past, but are you doing bracelets this year? I'm going to shave tomorrow morning, and I'll be going with a stache this year.

You don't think he's gotten better from last year? Or even the beginning of this season? Abby leads the team in even strength goals- I don't think anyone would have predicted the season would end with him leading. I think his play in the corners, his play in front of the net, and his decision making have improved. IMO he'll never be the type of player to carry a line himself, but he has learned to be an effective complimentary player on a scoring line.

AFAIK dropping your gloves isn't a penalty. If Tootoo getting hit behind the play because the Dallas player wanted to fight isn't a penalty, I don't see how this is. IMO it's a bad call, and I won't blame Wing players for bad calls against them- that's on the ref.

I agree. I judge the play on what happened, not the call. I don't think Smith should get the extra two and I do like what he did.

Do you think he did anything to receive a penalty? What Smith did wasn't any worse than what the Dallas player did to Q. That was the beginning of a fight, not a penalty.

It wasn't bad but I was unnecessary with 1 second left in the period. I'm not sure what Emmerton was trying to do, but I love Smith getting in there and standing up for his teammate. That's the type of attitude the Wings need.

I think for play compared to expectations, Abby gets an A. However, if we start every player at the same point, I say he is a solid B/B+ for playing his game well. IMO he has been better than Cleary, and he has managed to produce the past few months. Abby doesn't have a lot of assists, but his forechecking, screening, etc. have led to a lot of goals. Impressive stat: Abby leads the Wings in even strength goals.
