My thought as well. Likely Vandermeer couldn't make it by tonight, but IMO he would have been a better option for the season. -
The top two lines would likely play the same amount of ES time. You can change Cleary with Bert if that pleases you. That line flows with the two skilled players and a corner/net-front man the Wings used with Homer. Further, it gives the third line a scoring threat.

After watching last night, IMO the second line needs more puck control. I would like to see something like this for the forwards when everyone is healthy. Brunner- Z- Cleary Dats- Flip- Mule Sammy- Helm- Bert Tootoo- Abby- Miller/Eaves

Dorsett is more Tootoo's size, but it's understandable that Boll would take the fight. Good on Tootoo for setting the tone for the Wings after last game. -

Tickets were BOGO and they sold out quickly. I had a few friends who wanted to go, and the tickets were sold out by the time they got back to me a few hours after going on sale. -

Watching Leafs v. Sabres while waiting for the start of the Wings game, and Orr dropped Scott with a rib shot. Great to see Orr back after being injured. -

The NHL has been doing that for years, and I don't understand it. They are trying to 'calm' the game down, but IMO having two willing fighters (or one asking the other) is the best way to do that. -

I agree. From reading the reports of the game it didn't seem like any retribution was layed onto the Griffins- moreso frustration from Rockford. I like tough hockey, but I am not sure why Rockford was trying to prove by picking on the Griffins skilled players- the Griffins have plenty of players who are willing.

To be fair, the Wings could ice Tootoo-Abby- Bert with Smith- E and do something similar to the first lines of CBJ, FLA, Oilers, NYI, etc. The Griffins did get beat up, but it wasn't because Rockford targeted players who had experience fighting.

The Griffins have the 11th most fighting majors in the AHL. However, the brawl was started when the Griffins tough players were not on the ice. Good to see Grant get some retribution on Beach.
