Dreger reporting that Ott does not want to be traded.

Different roles. While I'm sure most here would like Roy, the cost for Gaustad is likely much lower. Also, Gaustad provides grit to the bottom six.

I think the trades will start to pick up around one. It seems that sellers are overvaluing their players, but the prices may have to decrease for anything to get done before the deadline.

I like Brown, Ott, and Gaustad. There has been a lot said about Ott's attitude on here, but IMO the A on his jersey is enough for me. I'm okay with a pest on the ice if the player is not a pest in the locker room.

Sportsnet saying Det is in competition with Van for players. Det is looking mainly at 3rd/4th liners- Gaustad and D. Jones mentioned.

The Sportsnet coverage is available through the NHL.com press room section in addition to the Sportsnet website. The NHL.com video is working better for me FWIW.

The team could use an improvement at the fourth line center position. Gaustad or Ott would be optimal IMO.

TSN's online coverage is Canada IP only, but this works in the US for those interested. http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/trades/2012-nhl-trade-deadline/

    Ericsson out One Month

IMO Commie has been consistently average (for a 6th D). Obviously the Wings want an improvement, but Commie playing hasn't been very risky thus far.

    2/25 GDT : Avalanche 4 at Red Wings 3

Nothing landed square. He has gotten better at keeping his balance and dodging, but he still has a lot of room to improve. Watching the replay, it doesn't look like he had the chance to decline the fight anyways.

You need to watch some more hockey fights of you think that was an ass beating IMO. Is that also your analysis of the Talbot-Carcillo fight from the playoffs a few years ago? Sometimes you need to see a teammate sacrifice/show emotion to get in to the game. Big hits, fights, tenacity, etc all do this.

And people were ragging on Abby... Wings just needed some emotion.

I'd prefer to see wins, but I appreciate the effort. Similarly, Dorsett loses most fights he is in, but I like him on the Wings.

Abby was at the end of a long shift.

Abby! At least he is showing some emotion.

The most I'd agree with is Mule, Cleary/Tatar, Kindl, and a pick. Maybe another small piece for Dorsett too.

Seriously? I'd be open to Mule and others, but Nyquist an Abby aren't likely to be traded.

    Somethings brewin'?

Ott or Gaustad would be good. The Wings could use a gritty fourth line center. While Abby can play that position, he has been better on the wing and either would be an upgrade over Emmerton.

Why would Phoenix, a team currently in playoff position, trade their captain and third leading scorer?

    Ryan Jones

I like his play, but he is not an upgrade IMO. Jones has two decent seasons, and (I believe) he has spent much of that time on the third line- he has played with Smyth this season. Jones was recently scratched for his play. http://www.faceoff.com/hockey/teams/edmonton-oilers/Jones+happy+about+taking+seat+press/6188011/story.html

    News to me.

Abby with two points. Helm with three points. Miller with a point. Great game by the third line thus far.
