Dats! Or Bert! Edit- Bert!

Not a great PP. Third line looks strong.
-
I'm assuming the column showing he has not scored when the team is trailing.
-
I agree. The Wings got beat on three plays, but they played well otherwise. Apparently Abby hurt Schenn with a hit.
-
Accounting for Mule's contract, I would rather keep Flip. He is progressing offensively and his defensive play is better.
-
We won't get Ryan without trading Mule or our best two/three prospects. Ryan has 30+ goals in each of his full NHL seasons. He will command a high price.
-
Here's an MLive article on the topic. Devellano is not happy with the union. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2012/01/red_wings_jimmy_devellano_disg.html This quote is interesting.

Playoffs are a concern for two reasons. In the 'western' conferences, the teams have a lower chance of making the playoffs by having eight teams compared to seven team 'eastern' conferences. Also, the divisional playoffs may be a concern to some. If two teams from the same division are elite, you may see the better teams eliminated earlier.
-
I wasn't a fan of the playoffs structure and unbalanced conferences. IMO the extreme realignment wasn't necessary, but it is a blow that the board passed the plan and the NHLPA.
-
IMO Ryan is more likely than Perry because of Perry's season last year (Perry will command more). Ryan has scored 30+ goals in all of his full NHL seasons.
-
I agree with you for this year. However, this team may be hindered in ~6 years by Mule's contract. IMO Mule is being offered here because of the length of his contract. Ryan is 24 and Mule's best season had 2 more points in 7 more games than Ryan's worst season. Perry is 26 and has a higher PPG than Mule.
-
I understand. IMO, if E and a first and/or second could replace Smith, the deal would be great. As I said earlier, Mule, E, and a first would be a good starting point. I would take that for the cheapest of Getzlaf, Perry, and Ryan. While I would like a fighter, Parros likely isn't skilled enough for the Wings fourth line. Mule is great now, but what about in 2016, 2017, 2018? Now he is a great value, but the possible long-term situation is unstable. Mule's value is high right now, and IMO it will likely decline rapidly over the next few years. If the Wings are going to ever trade Mule, this is the time. Further, Mule is the only 'elite' player the Wings can trade (IMO Dats, Z, Lids, Kronner are untouchable).
-
I'm surprised you did. IMO Smith is 'untouchable' since he is the only potential top-4 dman in GR.
-
I'd take Ryan, Getzlaf, or Perry. It would likely take more than this, but Mule, E, and a 1st would be a good place to start IMO. Mule is great, but his contract length is not.
-
I'm okay with the comments and the fine. IMO coaches shouldn't be complaining to the media (often) about the refs, but there are situations where talking to the media has a positive impact on the team- i.e. Torts is willing to give up $30,000 to stand up for team.

I can't imagine that sequence for a Russian fan. Terrible reffing.

Two 'modern enforcers' in on that goal. And Rupp with the Jagr salute while Jagr is apparently benched. -

Hartnell was a pretty big pest that period. I wouldn't be surprised to see him in a scrap in the second.
