It is a reach. Parise is NJ's captain, and Suter is one of the leagues best defensemen. I would be very surprised if both Suter and Parise are UFA's this summer. Further, if Nashville has to choose one of Weber or Suter, Weber (being a RFA) would be a 'better' loss, since the Preds would receive picks in exchange. With that said, this should be a great off-season. The Wings will improve, but I would not bet on the Wings getting both Parise and Suter. If anything wants to bet the Wings do, I'll take the bet.

Because Howard can't play every game during the regular season and the playoffs. If you don't like Conklin, you should be for keeping Howard at the top of his game.

Joey Mac is on a one-way contract next season. This doesn't ensure he will be the Wings backup, but he will be making 550k in the AHL if he is not. If the Wings get Parise and Suter, we will all be elated. That's a big if, since Parise is captain for NJ, and (almost) every other team would shed a defenseman and/or cap-space for Suter. The forwards will be interesting next year. Tatar and Nyquist are competing for the same spot, and one or both will be on the roster next season.

I think he knew exactly who he was picking. Maybe Kindl said something, but he didnt seem to do anything before the fight to provoke Benn.

I don't think he had a choice. Benn's gloves were off when he grabbed Kindl. Benn wasn't too happy about the loss apparently.

The NESN announcers are always over the top. I've always appreciated playing the goalie tough (as long as it isn't against the Wings or the team I was playing for), but that hit was pretty blatant. I'm surprised Buffalo didn't have much of an answer for the hit.

OT: Here's the Lucic hit on Miller.

By current fashion, horrible is usually 'cool'. They are better than their old yellow jerseys.

My favorite was game seven against the Ducks a few years ago. Mainly because it was the only Wings playoff game I've seen live.

OT: Lucic apparently hit Miller in the Bos-Buffalo game pretty hard. Miller went to play the puck to void a Lucic breakaway, and Lucic nailed him.

I wasn't referring to you. I was making a more general comment- I doubt there are many casual fans on LGW. 'Character' is certainly an opinion, but I can't think of many better commentators. IMO Versus is the worst on replays. Is there a new mic setup tonight? I don't recall hearing the beer guy in the stands before. Maybe Mickey asked him up to the booth.

I like the way they call games too. I can see how a casual fan is turned off by the banter, since they often skip semi-important play-by-play calls. As a dedicated fan, knowing all the names and calls, it can be a good change of pace.
