Welcome to Big Leagues Gustav Nyquist!

I agree. I think we would have been best with Flip, Z, or Dats. I am glad to see Bert on this line- I want(ed) one of Bert or Abby to play with him.

It's unclear from the quote (assuming you are referring to this one) if Babcock said Nyquist is likely to be in the top-6, or if Khan inferred it from talking to Babcock.

Welcome to Big Leagues Gustav Nyquist!

Babcock likes to have a net-front presence on each line, so I'm not sure if he would play Flip- Dats- Huds. Also, the line of Cleary- Abby- Bert was great in the playoffs last year, so IMO Abby would get the nod over Helm for that line. However, with all of the line changes recently, who knows what will happen.

Welcome to Big Leagues Gustav Nyquist!

I think we'll see a return to three scoring lines. Nyquist can play in the top-6, but I don't think he should/will get top-6 minutes in his first NHL game. IMO he should play with Abby or Bert for his first game(s) just in case... Huds- Dats- Cleary Mule- Z- Bert Nyquist- Flip- Abby Eaves- Helm- Homer

10/29 GDT: Red Wings at Minnesota Wild

Harding had to stand on his head a few times. The Wings could have player better though. IMO this loss is bad because it's the fourth straight loss, not because the Wings were outplayed (outside of Harding).

10/29 GDT: Red Wings at Minnesota Wild

Wings could have been better in the first half of the game, but they did outshoot the Wild by 16 shots and Harding had a great game. It's disappointing to lose, but the Wings were not dominated.

What has Eaves done this season to warrant being on the first line? Last night, the third line was worse with him. I like Eaves, but I don't see him on the first line.

Huge brawl in the griffs game

The only fights shown were the goalie fight and some of Smith's fight. I don't think McDonald is looking to become the next Hextal, and Smith has top-pairing potential. Neither player shown is an enforcer. Smith did the right thing, and IMO it would be great of the Wings had a top-pairing with some trusulence.

Will Babs alter lines again v Wild

    Khan confirmed it via MLive.

Will Babs alter lines again v Wild

I didn't think Brunnstrom would be given a first line spot, but I am surprised he was waived today. Maybe we will see the Cleary- Abby- Bert back together. They were great in the Phoenix series last year, and the fourth line of Eaves- Helm- Miller was also very good.

SJ better get a penalty. Im surprised to see Homer shed his gloves there.

Hudler to come out of the box Marchand style- toss the gloves, lid, and elbow pads.

    Nice shoot blocking there.

Can you read my fortune too? The bottom six has new lines tonight (I don't agree with them), so I'm not so sure how you can jump to that conclusion. Also, remember how close the Wings were to winning multiple games in the Sharks series last year.

Here's the video. Brown did very well. I'm not a big Subban fan, but I did like his interview after the fight.

Abdelkader back at center for Sat. game

I agree. This is a bad move for the bottom-six. The line of Abby- Helm- Bert was consistently good. Abby is less effective at center, and his minutes will decrease. I'm surprised at the move since Abby was essential in many (most?) of the chances against CBJ.

    What's up with Zetterberg?

Helm doesn't have the offense to play on the top line. He creates plays with speed and tenacity, not pure skill. Z is still better than 90% of the league. If that's nothing special, I don't want to know what you think of the rest of the roster.

Veterans Players Choosing to Wear visors/ Younger Players Going Withou

Lidstrom speaks on the issue in this article. He believes that the players should have a choice. http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index.ssf/2011/10/red_wings_nicklas_lidstrom_see.html

    Abdelkader

Abby played very well last night. He was physical, and he set-up a few scoring chances (the Wings didn't have many). It seems Abby was the 'odd-man out' when the lines changed, but I don't think he should have been demoted with how he was playing. The Abby- Helm- Bert line has been great. I don't think they should have been split up last night (I do understand why they were split up) and I hope they stay together.

Third line needs to stick together (the original one).
