Yeah I know you were being sarcastic about the "more enforcers less injuries" -thing, but I didn't know you actually knew that they had an enforcer.
-
Injuries are not always bad for player's development. I think the injuries Teemu's had earlier have only made him stronger mentally. He's grown strong in the Force.
-
Actually Jokerit is one of the few teams that have an enforcer type every year. Sami Helenius played for them and now they have Semir Ben-Amor.Anyways, I heard the injury was just a charley horse and he should be okay in a few days.
-
The goalie was Mika Noronen who played for Sabres couple years back.

I doesn't matter how hard you try if you just don't have enough skill. Helm won't be in the top6.

Leino, Flip Snr who's next years surprise pick up?
Finnish Wing replied to Andy Pred 48's topic in General
Perttu Lindgren. -
I think Stevie said the 97' team mostly because he didn't have a big part in the 02' season.
-
The "conditional" in this pick probably means that Ducks eventually get nothing. They just wanted to dump Voros somewhere because of his 1-way contract taking cap space.
-
I think it was a win for both sides. Those are going to be late picks anyway. Flyers are aiming for the Cup and right now they have three solid d-pairings, three solid lines that can create offense, one very good checking line and a good/decent goalie tandem. Picks don't matter that much when you're going for the Cup. I don't think that was an overpayment, but I do think they could've gone after some old cheap veteran forward and not pay for potential if they're looking only at this season. Because now they'll have to deal maybe Zherdev on the deadline or make deals in the draft to fit under the cap. They'll also need to re-sign Leino.

Why move a player who has just started to find his game whose trading value is going up? We wouldn't get enough in return and Hudler is only getting better.
-
Well, Lydman and Meszaros aren't really joining the rush that much.
-
Hahah. LOL at the "Hudler denies any involvment" while he's pulling the rope.
-
I think what Martin tried to do was absolutely pathetic.
-
I hate when these kinda threads pop up every now and then during a game.
-
Yes. Matt Carkner - definitely a HUGE upgrade.
-
I just hope that Rask is NOT up to the task.

Russian player name transcriptions to change, will NHL follow?
Finnish Wing replied to edicius's topic in General
Yeah, but when you spell Raikkonen in English it doesn't sound the same when spelling Räikkönen in Finnish. Even Selänne sounds more like salami. -
Well, this what happens when you got guys like Sami Salo there. And this was even before this season.

Maybe you misunderstood the whole point in that article. It had basically nothing to do with Russian letters. Only thing that is wrong how the English translations are written, because it doesn't match the correct spelling. I really don't know how this would make it any different for the English fans. How is it harder to pronounce Yevgeni than Evgeni? For example, Fedorov is the way how it's written when you translate it for the normal alphabetic, but the spelling doesn't get translated. So Fyodorov would be the correct way to write it in English. The Finnish version would be Fjodorov. Of course this would create another problem: Why only Russian players? -
I think he sucks and I'd never want him on any NHL team anymore. Because there's a chance he may be returning to SM-liiga to his original club Ilves and he's still a good goalie at that level.

Getting injured is a weakness.
-
Yes God Bless America! Just wonder what they're doing in the Egypt right now.

First Pavelec and now this. There's been a lot of weird things like this one happening in hockey (and in other sports too) lately. Cherepanov thing as well. Wonder why everyone has kept so quiet about them, because this sure isn't normal. I'm afraid only explanation I can come up with is doping; steroids, performance enchancing drugs. I've read some interviews about former Finnish soccer players who used them and the result was many time just like this one. Heart starts to pound fast and it feels like you don't get tired at all, then suddenly it blacks out and you just stumble to the ground.
