Nabokov claimed by NYI, refuses to report, suspended
Finnish Wing replied to Matt's topic in General
Hmm, lets see... Maybe it's because you're the...ISLANDERS!!!!! : DDD -
BTW, learn to spell his name already. It's FilPPuLa, not FilPuLLA. : D That's all, thank you.

Either Isles waive him which probably eventually leads to Wings getting him. Or they keep his 570k salary and get nothing but bad reputation among Meehan's other clients.I mean if it were the Sharks or Blackhawks - just to prevent Detroit from getting him - it wouldn't been such a big deal. But cmon the ISLANDERS? : DDD Garth Snow is a real player, I gotta tell ya. -

I think this was exactly what Kenny was thinking about in the first place. -

Good Job Garth Snow. I'm sure this helped a lot in your future attemps of getting good FA's signed. -

Now all the Islander fans are calling Nabokov stupid not to report. Man, I don't think I would either in that position. To go to ISLANDERS because of some stupid waiver rule right after I negotiated a contract with a contender team. -

Yes, extra-lite.

It really seems that Ilari isn't in the future plans of the Red Wings. He would've been called already at least once with all these injuries if that was the case.

There is. Jagr is exactly like him. Leino is a lite-version. Big frame shielding the puck well, making plays, while not having blazing speed.

This is how it goes: Nabokov has a NMC so he can't be forced to join a team he doesn't want to when getting traded/waived/etc. He'll end up either in Detroit or some other team he wants to. Maybe he chooses Sharks instead. Michael Leighton.: D -
I think Leino is even better comparison. Playmaking winger who doesn't have blazing speed but is excellent in shielding the puck and creating chances. Leino is a Forsberg-lite

If he's a friend of Kimi he's a friend of mine.

I've never played hockey in a club but I started skating when I was 4 or 5. The strange thing was though that I always skated only with my right foot and the left foot just kinda stood there. It wasn't until 10 or something like that when I learned to do it with both feet.

It's really funny to read through these comments about Leino playing well because he's on a line with Briere and Hartnell. Shows that people really haven't even seen Flyers games. Seems like for some people it's hard to give Leino any credit just because it didn't work out here.
-
I've been working on my military service in the army, so I've been away pretty much all the time. I'm happy that Leino has continued with his strong play from last year's playoffs. I think it's right for people to give him some credit even if he is no superstar.

0+2, +1, 7 shots and 19.10 icetime in a 3-0 win over SaiPa. So, after 10 games he's 5+5, +5 with 57 shots.
