Or this or this or this. Seems like all guys named Brock are badasses.
-
Oh yeah, wait. How many games have you seen him play again? How can you say he's got no potential left if you haven't even seen his progress? You're just making assumptions like you usually do.I'm not saying he has potential. I'm saying players can still improve their game at their late 20's and there are numerous examples of that. You as a Redwings fan should know it.

Kinda funny that some posters in Philly's hfboards section want to get rid of Asham and SIGN BRETT LEBDA! Can you believe it? And at the same time, we want to sign Asham and get rid of Lebda. Weird.
-
No it isn't. You have certain amount of potential. Some guys max it out later than others and this is definitely one of those cases.
-
Price had little trading value right now. They would've got basically nothing out of him. He still has great potential though and fits for the Canadiens mould. Halak is obviously the better goalie at the moment, but the trade has other factors as well.

Haha. Gotta laugh at some Montreal fans hoping for Oshie, Johnson or Backes in return.

How would you feel about Chelios as assistant?

+1 for this! -

I agree with this.About the homerism part - I just tend to talk about subjects I know more of, and that involves Finnish hockey in general.
-
I wouldn't have done this signing. I really see no use of having both Homer and Bert. Bert is declining. It would've been OK signing if the cap hit was under 1,5m, but this is just too much.

Is Filppula going to be our 3rd line center...or 1st line winger?
Finnish Wing replied to a topic in General
Zetterberg-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Hudler-Filppula-Franzen Bertuzzi-Abdelkader-Cleary FA-Helm-Eaves + Draper, Miller/Filppula Lidstrom-Kronwall Stuart-Rafalski Kindl-Ericsson + Lilja Howard Osgood My lineup has basically been the same all the time. The only difference now is the Bert signing, which I wouldn't have done. I'd gone after some good 3rd liner instead. What can you do? The "FA" would be someone who could fight occasionally. Filppula could be a wild card for the extra forward spot. edit: I actually forgot about Ritola. I think he's competing for the extra forward spots as well. We'll see what happens. -
Yeah, you can definitely judge that by looking at some goal highlights. FEL is not as tough as NHL obviously. Even AHL is tougher, but it's right there after AHL. Please don't make comments like that if you haven't even seen a full game of the league. You're just makin yourself look stupid.

The difference between Filppula and Leino is Filppula's defensive play. Leino basically needed to be on top6 if he was to be called up. You have more options with Filppula, even if Leino was the better talent.
-
You have certain amount of potential. Some players max it out at younger age already. For other it takes more time. Maybe it's because after you "fixed" it, it said he'll spend the season playing 3rd line in GR.
-
I agree with this, but instead, we don't have commercials every other minute.About the signing. This year was the first year I've actually watched him. Everyone knew he had much potential before, but he turned out to be a late bloomer and eventually dominated the league. So the signing is much like the Leino-signing (one year, two-way deal). Leino was a little younger though. Even though Ilari is 28, I believe he can still take steps forward. Whether his future is in the NHL, remains to be seen. One thing is for sure though, even though he was explosive offensively, he also has a good two-way game as he had spent the earlier years mostly playing on the bottom 6 and on the PK. As said before, nothing to lose in this signing. He can play offensive and defensive roles in GR, so I'm pretty sure he's not eating any prospects ice-time. Low risk, medium reward.

I think you getting bored is definitely the first thing Kenny thinks before drafting a player.

How much better would we be looking with Leino and Kopecky
Finnish Wing replied to a topic in General
As I said, I'd probably defend Samuelsson as well but I don't know anything about him. -
You don't HAVE to, of course. The fact is though that goalie is still the most important player in the team, maybe even more important than the coach in the playoffs. Blackhawks and Flyers both had very good team in general and no superstar goalies. Detroit hadn't one either. But that just because they've got everything else at such a good level.

Haha. This sooo wrong.Every Flyers fan said that whichever line he was put into immediately started rolling. I don't complain about your other arguments because I don't know about them enough, but this is total bulls***. He was the engine of the line. And I think it's a good thing many players become better after they play with us. Shows what kinda system we have and probably more players choose DRW because of that as well. -
Any idea why the Flyers don't want to sign him and insted keep a guy Carcillo who they even benched in the Finals?

Weird name.

His cap hit is about 5m though. And that's all what matters basically.

Leafs changing jersey; naming Phaneuf captain
Finnish Wing replied to MacK_Attack's topic in General
Seriously You have obviously studied Finnish hockey or something like that. How else you'd know legendary players like Aki Berg and Lasse Kukkonen. -
You always want to attack with the puck through the center. When you have the puck at the center you have three options (left, right, middle). When you go through either wing you only have the center and that particular wing to pass the puck into. Of course you can always dump the puck in cross-corner put you can do that with either corners when going through center. So basically, going through center gives you more options, options that lead either to a scoring chance or your team having the puck in the opponents end.
