I was waiting them to drop the gloves. That would have been something.

2 minutes for checking.

Newly Signed Brendan Smith Charged With Disorderly Conduct
Finnish Wing replied to RedFX's topic in General
The guy is cool because he punched someone in civil. Yay! -
I think he's more an example of how much talent has to do with everything. Of course you have to work hard and still have talent to even get to the NHL, but Datsyuk is just a natural talent.
-
Why? You want Hawks to win it?
-
LOL. I actually read "Chelios" at first. Thought it was some kinda Red Wings fan insider, "to piss in your Chelios". OK, not funny... continue.
-
This guy. Don't remember much about it, though.
-
This is actually exactly what I think too.

I doubt Leighton wins. They find some way to give it to Pronger probably. I mean Leighton has been good and at times great, but he "hasn't got enough wins". And they like wins, we all know that. Has it ever been the losing team's player to win it btw? Anyways... Hawks: Toews, Niemi (+ Bufloylagllelgien outside chance maybe) Flyers: Richards, Pronger (+ Leighton outside chance maybe)

If you had to predict what the 2010-2011 Roster WILL look like
Finnish Wing replied to stevkrause's topic in General
No one is a lock for anything in this team. Last year we had Hossa as well. Holmstrom will also be two years older now. It's highly unlikely that Hudler wouldn't be in our top6 most of the time next season. -
Funny. Because Jokinen himself has said that the absolute biggest thing for him was gaining his confidence back and getting a fresh strat. And by the way, Leino has always had the potential as well, even though not the same level of Jokinen's. There are TONS of other examples out there about losing confidence, gaining it back and it affecting your game. If you know anything about being an athlete you'd know that having confidence is HUGE.
-
Homer could finish his career there if the Wings don't want to offer him that multi-year deal he wants.
-
Rumours say he didn't want to sign with the Isles so they tried to get at least something out of it.
-
You can have your opinion, that's fine for me. The biggest difference here is probably the thing that you think he's on a hot streak now while I think he was on a cold streak earlier this year.I could actually make a little prediction, now that I think of it. My prediction: the Leino we see now is closer to the real Leino than what we saw earlier this season in Detroit. There. That's my prediction, not too bold or anything. And I'll definitely admit being wrong if it comes to that.
-
You are bold to make predictions like that, but it's not the way I do things. The thing is I HOPE Leino does well. I can for example say that he will be an NHLer IF he continues working hard like has he's done now in the Flyers. Only he can decide it, so I'm not gonna make predictions like that. I never make predictions - whether it's the final score of the game or someone winning something etc.You see, I don't make predictions about Red Wings at the start of the season either. The thing is I hope they'll do well, but I don't need to predict anything. But I can say however that IF they do "this" they're gonna win "that". Same thing with Leino and everything else. That's why I think your prediction is not only bold but a little stupid as well. It's basically only a prediction without anything more to explain why it's going to happen. I'm not saying you're trying to make ME look bad. You're trying to make Leino look bad with all those comments even while he's doing quite well. And I know for sure that there is much bitterness and hate behind those comments. That's why only Red Wings fans make these comments. As I said, I doubt for example Montreal fans would agree with you on that.
-
Yes, the Holland tactic has definitely been poor over the years.I wonder why some of these people even are Red Wings fans. Maybe you should try Ducks or Flyers etc. if you don't like skilled Europeans.
-
I don't have to admit I'm wrong because I don't make stupid predictions like that. I never made any point prediction for Leino at the start of the season. You can say I'm biased because of man-love and I can say you're biased because of man-hate. That's plus minus zero or something like that. Is it "same tired old crap" because you don't have anything to argue against it or why? I don't make arguments like "he's lazy and sucks and has no heart" without anything to back them up. It seems like you're trying even harder than I am. Your the one who started posting s*** about Leino in this thread as well and it has been the same thing in other threads too. You post some s*** about player, and I'm allowed to defend the player. I don't have to just sit back and watch while you make your personal opinions (taken from quotes from articles etc.) of some person sound like facts. Am I not allowed to make counter-arguments? Because, you see, I'm not the one who started this thing in this thread either. You probably think that if you try long enough to make someone look bad it actually happens. I'm sorry to disappoint you there.
-
Why is it unfortunate that he's doing well? It's not like he's playing for the Hawks or anything. Why can't just wish him all the best? Because it was obvious that Leino wasn't gonna get it going here. There are no ifs and buts.

No. 1st - Ilves 2nd - Team Finland 3rd - Red Wings edit: Wow, I'm getting negative rep because I speak the truth. At least I'm not faking like I'm a real fan like mindfly.

Good points there definitely. But I just think that Leino and Williams were at the start of the season players that aren't good enough defensively to play on a defensive role and on the PK and then again not good enough offensively to be on the PP and provide enough scoring for a team that wants to win the Cup. There were too many question marks above them. I mean we didn't have enough real top6 players. Zetterberg, Datsyuk were basically the only two. Holmstrom and Filppula were small question marks at the start of the season as well. We didn't know for sure that Holmstrom is gonna be the top6 player again, many guys were suggesting after last years playoffs that he could be even playing in the 4th line all season. Then we also didn't know if this was going to be "THE" year for Flip, and it actually kinda was but he was still injured. Bertuzzi was not a sure top6 at the start of the season for sure. So IMO the problem was having too much secondary scoring instead of primary scoring. When you look at this years finalists for example. Flyers have Gagne, Carter, Briere and Richards that everyone knew were sure top6 guys already at the start of the season. Then they had guys like Hartnell, Giroux and Van Riemsdyk to provide that secondary scoring. Hawks had Kane, Toews, Sharp and Hossa that everyone knew were sure top6 guys as well. Then they had Byfuglien, Versteeg, Ladd, Brouwer to give that secondary scoring. We lacked offense this year that's for sure. There are some questions for next year as well, but I'm hopeful guys like Helm can give some secondary scoring. I think Flip has become a real top6 guy finally and we will have Hudler back. Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Filppula and Hudler. That's 4 real top6 guys. Then we have at least Cleary, Holmstrom/Bertuzzi (or both), possibly Helm and Abdelkader and possibly some UFA signing to provide that seconday scoring.

I dunno. Ask Jussi Jokinen or Gillaume Latendresse how they changed basically overnight. Leino did change back to normal IMO. The same Leino we saw last year while he was up here.
-
Actually this is already a steal for the Flyers even if Leino gets 0 points next year. They probably wouldn't be in the Stanley Cup Finals right now with all the injuries if they hadn't got those points from Leino. They lost basically nothing and got a good 2010 playoff player for 800k. That's a steal IMO.I'm not saying it was a bad deal for Holland. Kenny did what he had to do. It was obvious that Leino wasn't gonna get it going here anymore. Latendresse needed to move to Minnessota, Jokinen needed to move Carolina and Leino needed to move to Philadelphia. Where did he say like that? It was a quote on an article from him, him saying that it's not as EASY for him to do all the things player like Helm are good at. There isn't even an audio of that interview. Even one word can make a big difference in quotes like that, and the writers usually edit them a little, especially when it's from a foreign guy. I've said it before and I say it again, that one quote got a bit too much attention here. So, what you're saying there is basically plain wrong, because he didn't said like that and even if he did he certainly isn't playing like that. And please, PLEASE, don't twist my words. I didn't say anything of how much heart Leino or anyone else has. You can't measure something like that. The only thing I said was that you can't say he has NO heart (which you did). Or, you can say it, but you can't really prove it. Like I said you don't lead the scoring among rookies in the playoffs if you have zero heart. And then again, this game isn't all about heart. Ian Laperriere probably has more "heart" than Jaromir Jagr, but he will never be nowhere near the player Jagr is. There are bunch of guys there who have natural talent who are better than guys who may have worked harder in some cases. It's only the end result what matters. And the result is that Leino got traded and is now playing in the Stanley Cup Finals. End of story, for now.

Kinda like Flip?Maybe we should draft a Finnish enforcer then.
