Maybe he can go and start a boxing career then.
-
Of course. I just think it's stupid to use our first round draft pick to get that kinda player.
-
Hahahaha. So funny!
-
That's a horrible list by the TSN guy. Got a link for this? Yes, we should definitely draft a fighter in the first round as there are not a lot of those kinda players available in the market.
-
This was just posted on the previous page.
-
Don't care what Salo was TRYING to do. The fact is that kinda play by Marchand can end careers near the boards.
-
That doesn't mean there has to be a correlation.
-
Wait. No RYAN NUGENT-HOPKINS?! That's fkin ridiculous!
-
No credit to Yeo? Seems like it's really true that there is no actual coaching culture in the NHL and everything is just measuring player's point totals and seeing which team has the best star players. Coaching has a pretty big part in the game of hockey as well, you know.

Buffalo signs Ville Leino to 6-year, 27m contract
Finnish Wing replied to Lonewuhf's topic in General
You don't win games by only working hard. You don't win games by only having talent. You need both. That's also why some lines work and some lines don't. You need combinations of both. And Kassian-Adam-Leino line has been their best line in the past few games. Reminds me a lot of the Hartnell-Briere-Leino line from last year and the year before. It's a nice mix of power forward on the wing, sniper on the center and playmaker on the other wing. -
The question is: if the things stay the same will Selanne want to get traded? It would be a win-win situation for the Ducks to rent him and for him to get a chance for a playoff run somewhere. I know for sure that he's going nowhere if he himself doesn't want it. But even Ducks fans would like him to succeed somewhere if they don't make the playoffs. I know for sure there are teams interested, he's a ppg guy still. Pittsburgh would be a nice fit even though it sounds kinda disgusting.
-
Exactly. I'm not arguing against this.
-
I didn't say Pekka Rinne or anyone else IS the best goaltender in the league. What I did say, was that Jimmy Howard won't win the Vezina while Pekka Rinne plays in the league. Call it an opinion or whatever you want. I call it a fact and am willing to put money on it. It won't be a real fact until we seen what happens. I'm not accusing you of having bias for Howard so please don't accuse me either. I don't care if Pekka Rinne is Ukranian if he has that size + technique edge which he does.
-
How'd Howard do that and that game? We are talking about being the best goaltender in the league, the whole year taken into account. Don't think single game matters much.
-
Not while Pekka Rinne plays in the league.
-
It might be cheaper when you do it in the offseason. You won't lose any players. But yeah, I agree with you. I'd do it in the trade deadline.
-
It wouldn't hurt to get him already this year. Some other teams might pull the trigger on the deadline already if we won't.
-
What has playmaking ability gotta to do with scoring goals? Not much.He doesn't position himself like elite scorers or he doesn't work like elite scorers do. Or a little bit of both.
-
Murph's trolling laugh.
-
No it wasn't aimed at you or anyone here. More like at everyone who used that argument to defend Flyers, because there already was a long conversation about this on the hfboards.
-
There's no problem in traps. They can be beat and everyone can use them. The problem was Flyers not trying to attack. It's the responsibility of the team who has the puck to keep the game going, try to score. Other team tries to prevent the scoring. Other team doesn't have to try to take the puck back. Most important priority is to prevent scoring, not to take the puck back. So don't gimme that argument, ok?
-
If that's ok there across the pond then I'll guess we have a cultural difference here. No need to continue the discussion any further. I am amazed, though.
-
Hipcheck? How can you hipcheck a guy without the puck? Persson had the puck and Vaananen was going to hit HIM, fair and square. Persson dodged the hit dangerously by going low. Vaananen could've gone to the boards head first. If you aren't man enough to take a hit, stay off the ice.

This kinda play from the team captain. Words can't describe how disgusting that is.
