    Jimmy Howard among Calder Finalists

I still don't understand how they can ignore Rask despite the games played. Oh well, guess he can fly under the radar all the way to the finals. It's all about Miller right now despite Bruins are leading 3-1. edit:

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

It was reported that he had a flu, but now he's been a healthy scratch. Laviolette said that he doesn't want to change his lineup, although many fans have said that they prefer to see Leino over Hartnell or Powe.

Even if you have 0 hits it's the goals that count at the end, and it doesn't matter how you score them.

Sarcasm.Red Wings were 7th in goals against but only 14th in goals for. And people think we lack defense.

Which NHLer would you like to punch in the face?

Sorry, I just don't understand what these players have done to these fans personally. I mean if this is just a joke, than yeah, very funny. But the fact is that some fans would like Sidney Crosby to get hit by a bus for real.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

Another example that we lack more offense than defense is the fact the we have a Selke nominee (winner last year) who isn't even playing on the PK. We also have Filppula and Zetterberg, both who arent among the top4 PK forwards. Then again, we have a guy like Dan Cleary who's obviously not a offensive forward playing on the PP and occasionally on top6. Yes, the top6 needs also players who have size, but we already have Franzen and Holmstrom. Bertuzzi and Williams will probably be gone and Hudler fits there perfectly. We have the EuroTwins vol. 1 in Datsyuk-Zetterberg and EuroTwins vol. 2 in Filppula-Hudler. I see no scenario where Armstrong or any armstrong-type player would be better fit for this team. Also about the toughness thing and Hudler being "invicible" in the playoffs. The game is divided to offense and defense. Toughness can be part of both, but at the end only the result matters, not the way you do it. Many times players who are tougher get more points in the playoffs because the game style changes a bit and the refs don't make calls so easily. It's the result that matters and obviously when you look at the points Hudler has been ok or good in the playoffs in his role (3rd liner). Armstrong has no actual proof that he's better than Hudler in the playoffs. I don't care if you score a goal by crashing the net or by deking the defender. It really doesn't matter to me. Obviously, for some guys here, style points matter more than the actual outcome.

    Maple Leafs sign Jussi Rynnas

http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=318903 Along with Zuccarello-Aasen he has been the hottest free agent right this season. Red Wings were reported to be among many other teams chasing him but he decided to go to Toronto. Almost a copy of Gustavsson or maybe Pekka Rinne. Was maybe the best goalie in the Finnish SM-liiga even though he played for one of the worst teams. Kind of a late bloomer.

Which NHLer would you like to punch in the face?

If that means punched in a face in civil I'd say no one as I generally don't "hate" any player. They're only players and you don't judge them as human beings based on what they do on the ice. If you wanna judge them as human beings, then you need to look what they've done off-ice. And I don't think many of us really know what players do in civil. To hate some player because he scores a goal against your team, plays nasty or something like that is just stupid. They can be totally different guys in real life. Hockey is just a game. It's a different thing if that means punched in a face in a hockey fight or something like that because that's part of the game and players usually agree to fight the other players. Hoping for player X to get hit by a bus etc. is always related to civil life, not the game on ice and therefore it's pretty weird too. Also, if a player sucks and doesn't play as you like, it's totally stupid to start hating him because of that. It's also funny to see hate towards players who are overpaid. The GM offers a contract to Brian Campbell and he agrees to it (wouldn't you?) and suddenly all the fans hate the player - and usually the person too even though they've probably never even met him - because his cap hit is too big. Hockey is just a game people.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

Colby Armstrong has had 0+1=1 points in 5 playoff games in his career, meaning 0.20 ppg. Jiri Hudler has had 9+19=28 points in 51 playoff games in his career, meaning 0.55 ppg. Hudler's has also ten times more playoff experience than Armstrong. Yet, somehow Armstrong is better playoff player. Weird.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

It's like I said. We're lacking offense right now. Getting Armstrong will make our team even more defensive (=more one-dimensional). Getting Hudler will provide us with something that we are lacking (=less one-dimensional). Yes, I loved your great arguments in that case too. You explained them so well that I didn't have anything to say to defend Hudler. Have you thought about politics?

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

How is Armstrong a better playoff player than Hudler? Haven't seen any concrete proof for that. Armstrong had almost 30 points this season while Hudler had almost 60 points last season. Armstrong had 40 points when playing with guys like Crosby and Kovalchuk. Hudler had 57 points when playing with last year's Filppula and last year's Samuelsson. So I think the difference is even bigger. You really think Hudler is worse two-way forward than guys like Holmstrom, Bertuzzi, Maltby, Miller... Guys like Miller or Maltby can't provide offense. Two-way means both offense and defense. Our team lacks more offense than defense. That's what you don't get. Err... wrong. Hudler will be a top6 forward next season, with better linemates than last season as Filppula is better than last season and Franzen is better than Samuelsson last season.

Let's all support Jarkko Ruutu so that he has more votes than Crosby. That will happen once it's year 2012 and will cause the end of the world as Newton foresaw.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

How is Armstrong a better fit for this team? We're not gonna resigng more than one of Bertuzzi, Williams and Holmstrom. Top6 guys we're going to have next season: Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Franzen, Filppula, Bertuzzi/Williams/Holmstrom, X Bottom6: Cleary, Helm, Draper, Abdelkader, Eaves, Miller We already have enough bottom6 guys for next season. Of our top6 guys only two are better than Hudler offensively. Plus, three of them, Filppula, Zetterberg, Datsyuk are all good penalty killers too. I fail to understand how Armstrong or any guy that brings us less offense and more defense for that same money could be a better option for this team. Armstrong has potential for +50, Hudler has potential for +70. Hudler is two years younger and has already played for this team and played under Babcock. You can hate all you want but I know which of them Babcock and Kenny want.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

Yes, and that's why we need a guy like Hudler. As a team we already have that defensive abilitiy, but lack offense. Getting Hudler helps with that. It's like we have 80 offense 100 defense and Hudler balances it to 100-100.Of course I take a guy that is great in offense and great in defense over a guy that is great in offense but only average in defense, IF THEY WOULD HAVE THE SAME CAP HIT. We're living in a cap era, and when we get Hudler we don't pay too much money for defense which would be "wasted" as we already have great two-way guys. Got the point?
  17. Finnish Wing

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

Yeah, but we have Zetterberg, Datsyuk, Filppula, Helm, Eaves, Miller, Draper, Cleary... all good defensive guys. We don't need a guy for our PK.Our top forwards only had 70 points this season. I don't think that's so much. We need more offense and the fact is that if you want to get a guy with imaginary offense rated 10 and defense rated 5 it's cheaper or much cheaper than a guy with offense rated 10 and defense rated 7. And we wouldn't really even have no real use for that defensive ability. We need to strengthen our offense more than our defense at this time, that's the point.
  18. Finnish Wing

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

I'm not concerned about that as we're still talking about the best offensive guy available on the market for that kinda money.
  19. Finnish Wing

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

As I said, we don't need to pay guys for playing PK as already have one of the best two-way forwards in the game. We need offense and I'd think it's stupid to right now pay more for a guy who gives us less offense but better defense.Colby Armstrong is 2 years older than Hudler. He's had a bigger role in Trashers than Hudler had here. Yet his best season is only 40 points and didn't even break 30 points this season. Hudler had 57 points here while playing in 3rd line. I think the chances that Hudler scores 70 points are much bigger than Armstrong scoring 60 points. Maybe you're the one who should get over yourself, especially as you have basically no proof for your arguments. If one can even call those arguments. Maybe you should be a fan of some other team if you don't like European players or players who can actually PLAY the game. You know, play with the puck.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

Wow. A pair of 30 point scorers. But of course they're real North American boys and not threatening Europeans like Hudler so they'd definitely be better choices for our top6. I'd also like to see some answers to this question. We don't really need two-way players any more, so all that pretty much matters is offense. Hudler has already put up 57 points and has potential for easily put +60 next year and +70 in the future.Who can we get with 2.75 or less who puts up points like that? Tell me please anti-hudler guys.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

You really think Filppula was a top6 player last year or Samuelsson a 30 goal scorer? Also, it's not 3m. Don't change things around.
  22. Finnish Wing

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

Weird. And I always thought you need to be more defensively responsible when playing in the 3rd line.By the way. I think it's good that we don't put too much money getting more two-way guys as we already have a bunch of them. Why do we need Hudler to be on the PK? We could get some guy with Hudler's offensive abilities plus great defensive talent but it would also mean much bigger cap hit. We have Zetterberg, Filppula, Datsyuk etc. great two-way players. Zetterberg and Datsyuk both had only 70 points this season. I think we need some pure offense rather than more two-way players.

    Maple Leafs sign Jussi Rynnas

He probably plays the next year in AHL with big minutes. But I see him definitely having a good future. He could well be as good as Rinne is, or even better. I also heard that Leafs are maybe moving Giguere in the future.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

I don't care how dimensional he is as long as he puts 57 points playing with Filppula (who wasn't as nearly as good last year than this year) and Samuelsson (who wasn't as nearly as good last year than this year). Easily +70 point potential in the future. Prolly puts up +60 next season.

Report: Hudler released from Moscow Dynamo

I don't know anything else expect Red Wings obviously weren't ready to offer him 2,7m which was kinda weird.I'm just saying that different cultures have different values. I don't judge Hudler based on his off-ice acts if it's nothing illegal like killing someone or dealing drugs. Even if it was something illegal, I still think those 57 points for 2,7m is something this team needs.
