Oh please NOOOO!!!! Don't start a thread about this. It isn't like we haven't gone through that argument already. I personally don't consider Filppula overpaid, but there are guys who do. The counter-argument according to them is that Filppula has never played that kinda season and projections are bulls***. I don't actually think so, but NVM. I hope this thread gets merged or deleted, as we already have two recent threads about Filppula filled with text.

Better teams never qualify because it's based on the earlier performances in the olympics, I think. I don't think Switzerland is qualifying, because they've been good. I think it's something like the last of each group, who qualify. -

That's the point. You try to build the best team, not pick all the best players. That's why Kovalev isn't in Team Russia, because he may be better than Kozlov for example, but Kozlov fits for his role and that team much better. Kopecky fits on the 4th line better, even though there's much hate towards him on LGW. edit: Just actually remembered that Kopecky was a Slovak. But the point still remains the same. -

I think Germany, Switzerland, Belarus and Denmark have the potential to be better in the future and cause upsets. And of couse even smaller countries can play good with good coaching. I wouldn't reduce the amount of teams. It's just one part of the Olympics that you see athletics that are better than others. This isn't nearly as bad as in women's hockey. -

Ruutu is having his best season ever so far. He has started to actually play hockey, and let some of the stupid things behind. He's still an agitator though. -
