According to the Finnish MTV3 media, Jussi Jokinen will not be on the roster. Ville Peltonen and Jarkko Immonen are said to be chosen instead. I would be very disappointed if this was true.

I always forget that!

I am. There's never been any big egos in this team and this time is no different. Everyone pulls the same rope and works together.
-
Finland can't afford to dump guys that can produce offensively. We don't have that offensive depth the other countries have.
-
I though this thread was made to only comment Filppula and not the other players.
-
Magnus Johansson - The Swedish Petteri Nummelin. I don't think Nummelin will be on the Finnish roster though. At least, I hope not.
-
Tuomo Ruutu - Mikko Koivu - Antti Miettinen Olli Jokinen - Saku Koivu - Teemu Selanne Niklas Hagman - Jussi Jokinen - Jere Lehtinen Sean Bergenheim - Valtteri Filppula - Jarkko Ruutu + Mika Pyorala Joni Pitkanen - Sami Salo Kimmo Timonen - Toni Lydman Sami Lepisto - Ossi Vaananen + Lasse Kukkonen Miikka Kiprusoff Nicklas Backstrom + Antero Niittymaki Now don't get me wrong. Filppula is a great player, but also a good defensive player. He has no history in the national team, so I believe he's not going to get a big role. It's possible he's centering the 3rd line though, but I'd rather have that "Dallas chemistry" there.

12/26 GDT: Blue Jackets 1 at Todd Bertuzzi 2

Is it just me, or does Filppula seem MUCH bigger and stronger than Datsyuk and Zetterberg? Seems like he always wins the one on ones in the corners and is constantly knocking guys off the puck. -

BTW. I watching this Viasat stream and it's showing some random goal highlights. What the heck is wrong with that Buffalo commentator's voice? It seems like he loses his voice everytime Sabres score. -

How could Abby NOT score on that chance? -

Yeah, and who wouldn't? I thought it was Williams who was supposed to replace Samuelsson. And I'd rather have Hudler than either of those two, although they've been good as well. -

I didn't see the first period, but apparently it was Leino's fault that the score is 1-0 for CBJ. -

Funny joke, but it lagged when Leino was benched and the game it didn't lag Leino was on the ice. -

Dunno what the hell is wrong with that justintv AGAIN. It worked liked two games normally and now it's gone back to the s*** mode. It's just lagging all the time, while every other stream is working. The reason why I'd like to watch justintv is the Red Wings commentator. -
Better be tearing it up...

Yeah, but the point wasn't about Wings drafting Granlund. It was Grandlund's draft number overall. I bet you that it's under 10. I don't care if the Wings draft him, maybe we shouldn't as we already have pretty good centers for the future.
-
Wow, that would be nice. Usually BÃ…G hasn't chosen him, even when there has been a chance.
-
Ovechkin and Kovalchuk in the same line would be very stupid. Not only they both want the puck all the time, but you don't get as much out of their game unlike when they're separated.
-
Apparently you didn't even read what I said. It's totally different tearing it up in WHL than Finnish SM-liiga. SM-liiga is at the same level than AHL and is also the toughest European league. If someone is a point per game player as a 17 year old in men's league, I highly doubt that he would never be an NHL calibre player. Granlund's potential is being a solid 2nd line center in a cup contender team. I agree with you though that there are a lot of question marks over European players. But Finns don't usually lack toughness. Leino is an exception, and he said himself that he considers himself more of a Russian type player. I believe Grandlund's got that toughness needed to be successful. edit: The difference between NA fans and European fans is that European fans usually watch both NHL and European leagues, while NA fans watch only NHL. It seems like Americans don't really even know much about European countries or their hockey. Everything what you don't know about is somehow questionable and confusing. Some of you probably think that there are polar bears in Finland.

Zinoviev for example would be an excellent defensive forward in the NHL. He's much like Datsyuk, as being not so physical, but skilled and good two-way player. And it's not only about the skill. It's also about chemistry and roles, which obviously mean a lot for Bykov. It's not the old Russia anymore. This team has discipline and I just don't see someone like Kovalev there. Frolov is useless in bottom lines and they've got better players in the top lines already.

Yeah, but you replied to my post where I was talking about the leading goalie country in the world. I agree with you about the tied or not-tied 3rd place though, if we're only speaking of starters. You sure it will be Nabokov for Russia?
