Which actually guarantees nothing. I've seen a few of these Hobey finalists in the Finnish league - Junior Lessard newest of them in Ilves - and they've not impressed me at all.

Babcock is the most modern coach (regarding playing style) in the NHL along with Todd McLellan. I think we all know there's no chance he gets fired.

Then you obviously didn't read anything I said there. Why would USA be any better than Finland now? Finland's team is pretty much the same than before, except with better coaching. USA has better team than before now, but the coaching and playing style is nowhere near the top countries (Gustafsson, Bykov, Babcok, Jalonen). You should understand that those are the top coaches in the world right now. They don't yell like normal big fat NHL coaches with large moustache. Jalonen is tactically a lightyear ahead of Wilson. Period. Stop looking only at the player list. Finland's never had the top talent in any international tournament. Still have gotten some good results (won -95, dominated 06, and has been among the top teams consistently).

One word for you: coaching. Canada and Russia are both easily better teams than USA when you compare coaching and players. Sweden and Finland are both ahead of USA because their coaching is way ahead of USA even though players almost evenly good. It's just funny how everyone here talks about the players all the time but ignore the coaching and playing style. 1. Canada 2. Russia 3. Sweden 4. Finland 5. Czech Republic 6. USA 7. Slovakia 8. Switzerland

Holmstrom-Datsyuk-Bertuzzi will not be broken unless Leino-Zetterberg-Cleary is broken. Why? They're at the moment only top6 type of guys we have healthy. It would be stupid to put someone like Helm there and then drop him back after we get Williams and Filppula back.

It's not about overperforming. You can't judge a team based only on it's list of players (which many of you do). As said before, Finland has one of the best coaches in the world along with Canada, Sweden and Russia. Finland also had a great coach in last Olympics.

OOKAY: Franzen-Datsyuk-Holmstrom Leino-Zetterberg-Cleary Bertuzzi-Filppula-Williams Draper-Helm-Eaves Now, the only (very small) problem with these lines are Williams' and Bertuzzi's defensive skills. Bertuzzi has showed that he can play well defensively too, but Williams is maybe too offensive on that role. Still, the best lines available when everyone is healthy (if it ever happens).

I think it all comes down to the size (not to bash Dats or Z) where Malkin has this huge edge.
