I don't think it was a matter of trying. Czechs just happened to be much better and dominated the whole game, like they have done most part of this tournament.

I think this Thornton slash was a perfect example why there are referees who tell what you can and can't do. Even though, ironically the refs didn't see the play either. In that case it wasn't easy to see from the bench who Thornton slashed or did he even slash anyone (of course we saw what actually happened from the replay). What if there were no instigator and we trusted players to do the policing? And what if Thornton hadn't actually slashed Z, but some tough guy on the bench though he did? Would it be right if that player decided to "punish" Thornton in the next shift for example? Just let the referees do their job and let the players concentrate on playing. And before someone yells: "But the refs suck and can't do their job!!!". Yeah, they make mistakes as well, but letting players police themselves isn't the solution for that. Solution is getting better referees through educating, training and searching them from around the world (like they do with the players).

He's 23, so he's no more eligible to be drafted. He's a free agent at the moment. Brian Burke is rumoured to be intrested.

Granlund carried his team to the championship in the playoffs. He was injured yes, but he proved that he has took yet another step forward from even he's last year's amazing play. It's not all about the stats, it's about the level of play.I'd say Granlund is one "level" above Pulkkinen in terms of talent. Granlund has abilities what make him different than Teemu. He has always been questioned by the media (too small, too slow etc.) and been challenged when he's going for the next step but he has always made it. Now he has at times dominated in the WC and has been a top3 player for Finland every game. There have been some issues that Pulkkinen could be a little bit of a perimeter player and shy to take hits and go after a puck in the corners. Granlund is small, but he plays like he's big. He always goes to the dirty areas and wins pucks. Like I said, I see Granlund being one "level" above Teemu in talent and I doubt it's going to change ever. Mikael has some "natural" qualities which you can already probably notice when you talk to him, but clearly when you see him play.

Didn't make the team. Koivu, Ruutu, Aaltonen, Granlund, Immonen, Pesonen. There's some of the offensive names. Now that I've seen six games of them I think he could've been a better choice than Aaltonen but hindsight is always hindsight.

I just listen to this.

This is not 100% official yet (not on the Jokerit homepage). Here's the Finnish article.

No, we don't own anything of him as he turns into free agent after this season. Different scenario would be if we had for example drafted him (he's way too old for that though) and we decided that he should go play one year in Europe.

I'm reading a book about communication, journalism and media, which is used to study for an exam to entry a university.

Maybe they're just playing above their regular season abilities. I cannot speak for Moore here, but Sean Bergenheim is a former first rounder. He's never had the chance to play in the NHL playoffs before. He's always got the potential there. I know he won't turn out like Jussi Jokinen did, but it's a similiar situation. Bergenheim's NHL career was almost buried before Yzerman signed him. I'm sure he can pick some of this playoff run onto his regular season game as well (like Leino did).

You make it too complicated. Coaches can be compared. Or if you argue it like that then why would it be any different when comparing players? Players play in different teams, coaches coach different teams. You can compare coaches if you can compare players.

Well, we all know how important those little things are.

McLellan did have a big impact on our puck control game. At first I though it was all Babcock, but when McLellan left it showed. I'm not saying he's the better coach, but I think he is better tactically while Babcock is better in mental coaching.

This. Why does it happens so ******* often? It's painful to watch a game where they first lose it and then try to keep it tight and entertaining by ALMOST coming back.

WOW! He actually looks like that. Hilarious. I thought he looked more like a bear than a squirrel based on that voice.

This is going to be interesting.

You mean this one?
-
You sure? Then why don't every team just give one-way deals more easily then? I doubt it's about money. I mean pretty much every organisation in the NHL has enough money for everything. It's just the cap hit that becomes a problem.I don't know how this really goes, so that's why I'm asking. But I think it's just weird if one-way deal in the AHL doesn't have any effect on the cap.
-
Leighton has a one-way deal, so his money will still stay in the cap no matter where he plays. And I'm 95% sure that the Flyers won't even try to sign Zherdev. But they may still have to let Leino go. Leino could ask 3,5m (max) but that would mean going to the FA market and probably to some s***ty team. I think it would be wise to him to understand that and be happy with 3m or less.

Salami's last game?

Ruutu. Boogaard. Carcillo. Parros. There are some different kinda players who fight often or less often. I'm betting you'd say Boogaard and Parros are true enforcers. Am I right?

I know you too well Crymson, my friend.

Ville ******* LEINO!!!
