There's no reason to continue this because you miss the point all the time. You're like saying that Lids is more valuable in the transfer market than for example Franzen (healthy), Datsyuk and Zetterberg. I said Lids is 7th valuable player when considering cap hit and skill. Yeah, well this is about skill vs cap hit not dressing room leading vs. cap hit. This is about value overall, not value only to us. You could say this thread is about trade value. I agree with almost everything you said there. Still, Lids isn't that valuable in the trading market anymore.

Of course injuries have always their good sides. Other players need to step up, guys like Leino really get those chances and you get to know how good is your team's depth. Blues last season for example. edit: About the lines. It would be kinda weird if Babs decided now to unite Z and D after Franzen's gone. I mean, if we lose big name like Franzen shouldn't we split Z and D to make our lines more balanced? I have supported uniting EuroTwins all the time, even now. But as I said, it would just seem weird if Babs decided to do that now.

Why exactly? Also, how did this became a Lidstrom thread? I just don't see 7 point something mill for him as a steal anymore. While Datsyuk and Z are huge bargains. As said earlier, I don't think Stuart has nothing so special that makes him worth 4M. Healthy Lilja for about 1M is a steal IMO. Leino put up numbers already and for 800k that's a steal as well. I think many people totally missed the whole point of this thread. Those players are not in order depending on their skill level. It's skill vs. cap hit. So, Selke13 I don't think you agree with me on everything but please tell me what you think is so "straight up ridiculous" about that list.

Well you can have many views about that. I personally think that Stuart and Raffi both make too many bad turnovers. Raffi is still so good offensively and at the point that 4M for Stuart who is not so special in any area is more overpaid deal than 6M for Raffi. You can argue about it, but that's just what I think. You didn't post your own list, so I assume it looks totally same as mine (besides that Raffi-Stuart thing)? : D

Learning new things here. Because, I really though that 2-way deal meant not having go through waivers. Guess, I've been living in that EA Sports world. Then it's Eaves out again. ONE LAST TIME: Draper-Helm-Maltby/May btw: PS3, not xbox!!

Damn, I didn't remember May's deal was a two-way deal. This basically means that May will be the one sent down. No sense risking Eaves or someone else to waivers.

How can you discuss just one line if you think differently about all the other lines? Maybe we shouldn't even start these kinda threads that focus only on single line, because clearly there are different views of players who might play in the line. I'm no Homer-hater, but as I said when the lines are those (Homer on the 4th) there are fewest weak spots. But if we go Babs-way and don't think about re-uniting EuroTwins or doing anything else to the other three lines I say that May plays and Malts is the 13rd forward. As said earlier, Eaves can go to GR.

That's true. It's hard to create a lineup that hasn't got any problems or question marks. But I would like to see: a) Z and D together b) Fil in the top six c) Fil and Leino together d) all lines having good defensive talent Besides that earlier lineup, I can only come up with this: Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Holmstrom Franzen-Filppula-Leino Bertuzzi-Williams-Cleary Draper-Helm-Maltby/May Maltby/May Now, that 3rd line just seems a little weird. Can Williams be solid enough defensively to play center? Does Helm deserve something more than 4th line minutes? Of course, there are scenarios where EuroTwins are split, but I don't really like them. If we we wan't to protect some big lead or are away playing against a team with good offense we may need to split them. Usually everything works better when they're together (some poetry). edit: I still think, the line I posted earlier has the fewest weak spots.

Drapes on the middle that's for sure. Holmstrom on the left wing. May and Maltby rotating on the right wing spot depending on situation and how good they play. These lines have been posted here like 23654 times already, but: Datsyuk-Zetterberg-Cleary Franzen-Filppula-Leino Bertuzzi-Helm-Williams Holmstrom-Draper-May/Maltby May/Maltby And yes, Homer on the 1PP with Z&D. Suddenly I don't even know why we signed Eaves. The price is low, but he really doesn't bring anything so special or different to this team (unlike May). Of course they didn't know that May was available that time. I think we should send him to GR. Although he'll need to go through waivers.
