I was just kidding there. I think you know I'm no enforcer slappy.
-
What's an "true" enforcer? Someone who can ONLY fight and play no actual hockey?
-
Conclusion: get an enforcer = get to the playoffs.
-
Then again it's been a trend in the past few years, that you don't necessarily need a superstar goalie. Leighton vs. Niemi last year in the playoffs pretty much sums it up. No superstar goalie in today's hockey is so good that he can take his team alone to the Cup. Even if Sabres win these series, I still think Flyers would've had much realistic chance to actually go deep and win the Cup than them.
-
I think Flyers would've deserved the win there. Well, what can you do? Hockey's a game.

Seriously is JVR's name so hard to pronounce by all these commentators? The weirdest one I've heard sounded something like Ralph damn Beerstrike. Yes. Ralph. I don't know how that's even possible. Well, then again I'm not native speaker so I wouldn't know...

Chelios was a defensive defenseman, though. Selanne is a forward and a scorer.

There are more North American players "running" away or getting fired from the European leagues than the other way around.
-
If MVP still means Most VALUABLE Player, I just don't understand how Helm or anyone else is getting votes. Pavel Datsyuk was easily our MVP.
-
He isn't even 80 overall in NHL 11. How could he be a good player?
-
I'm definitely on the Justin Bie... I mean Jeff Skinner bandwagon.

What's the deal with these corn nuts?

Why were NBC announcers all quiet after the game ended? Sounded like it was a Coyotes feed. Or an anti-Red Wings feed.

Totally agree with this one. Had the same kinda experience when taking the shuttle from Windsor to see the game. I'm glad we already went to Detroit the day before because all the stuff we needed to do there took like 2 hours or something. Of course we're not North American so I kinda understand it, but still all these questions like "Where you involved with Nazi Germany in the years 1939-1944?" were kinda funny. And yes going back to Canada was pretty much a joke. First of all, all the officers there were women - dunno why was that. Just showed them my passport, they hardly even looked at it and let me through. Another funny example was at the US border again, when we were leaving Windsor and crossing the bridge over Detroit river with a car. The guy at the booth asked if we had ANYTHING bought from Canada with us. Of course we did, kinda weird question. So, my godfather kinda mumbled something and then said something like "yeah, we have some mandarins back there" - which we had, but also a lot more of stuff. Then the guy at the booth was like "SIR, you cannot have those mandarins there. Please show me where they are." Then he took them and throwed them in to the thrash can. That was probably one of the funniest moment on our trip. Later, when I think about it, I think it was part of his job to ask that question and kinda expect that everyone says "no" so he can just use the usual "move along" phrase. Maybe it's some weird law, but he definitely was like "why did you have to say you have those mandarins there?". The image of American officers and guards is very similiar to the one I've gotten watching all those South Park episodes. "Hey, what do you have in that back, sir?" "Umm... nothing." "Move along, then."

Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker. -
I've always wanted Lidstrom to play with Kronwall and Rafalski with Stuart. Seems much more balanced.
-
I don't agree with that. Blake-Koivu-Selanne has been a good combination and have played together a lot. At times that line carried the Ducks. They've got two solid offensive lines.I would be more concerned about goaltending and good defensive forwards other than goons. Their defense was a big questionmark at the start of the season, but Lydman and Visnovsky have been great, and Fowler has been good as well.

I think the idea came from Blue Jackets GM Howson. It's actually regulation wins + OT wins that matter. So shootout don't count in this statistic, OT wins do. If Wild wins in regulation or OT they'll both have the same amount (38) of ROW.As they both have the same amount of points, wins and ROW the next thing that is looked at is the amount of points earned between these two clubs. And that's why Wild will go to the playoffs with a win, because they have 8 points while Chicago only have 3. This is straight from the NHL.com standings page.

Not really that much of a fight there, but still kinda surprising.
-
What has that to do with anything? You think I haven't seen that before? Geez. I said it "wasn't much of a fight" but still a first fighting major for a future HOFer at the age of 40 is kinda of surprising to me.
-
If I'm building a franchise cold play of late doesn't really matter much. He has a great future ahead of him.
-
Wow. I'd rate Stamkos and Keith a little higher than that. I wouldn't build a team around Perry even if he has scored 50 goals this year.
-
And I thought players had more respect towards each others back then...

You - as a Finn - should know that this particular waiver rule was created because of a certain player called Reijo Ruotsalainen.Read more about it here.
