Where did I say Holmstrom was a common player? Unless you're actually comparing Byfuglien's talent/experience level to Holmstrom in which case LOL. And I said tap ins, not tip ins. A tap in from a few feet in front of the net can be accomplished by anyone. Byfuglien is a decent player but he was mainly a product of his line mates. Where was his production all year when he was coasting on the 3rd or 4th line or where ever they had him? Or was it just a coincidence that his point totals shot up once he had Toews and Kane feeding him the puck? He'll be average at best on Atlanta.

Yeah I'm sure it had nothing to do with being on a line with Toews and Kane. From what I saw in the playoffs all of Byfuglien's goals came from 5ft out or closer, basically tap ins. Who can't score those? I think people seriously overrate Byfuglien. Let's see how great he is in Atlanta without two big names on his line.

I'm pretty sure that's not correct at all. They'll definitely have to move Versteeg and probably Ladd and then let a couple of their 4th liner FA's walk. Clearing this cap space gave them the room they needed to sign some of their guys like Niemi and Hjalmarraonqieinqtneson who everybody at HF thinks they'll want to keep. And are you guys serious about Byfuglien being a super important piece for Chicago? From what I've read he's useless in the regular season, and the only time he's useful is when he's on the same line as Kane and Toews. Whoopty-doo, who can't put up points on the same line as those two? So Chicago lost a pretty good playoff performer (when he's on the same line as their two best players) and is now going to a team that never makes the playoffs. If Byfuglien has potential to be as good as Homer then I doubt we'll see it while he's in Atlanta.

Who else are they going to move? Pretty much all of their guys of any value played great for them this year.

I don't get it. All teams have to do this. We did this past year. That's just how it works in a hard capped league.

The problem is within the Wings' organization, specifically their marketing department. They're responsible for getting the players out there into the public.

EA has said before that they choose their cover player based on which players actually play their games and then they take their on-ice play into account as well. If Toews plays their games (which I'm assuming he does) then it's a no-brainer based on this past season.

Hossa was our leading scorer when he played with us AND has an exponentially better defensive game. I think Kovy is a better pure goal scorer but I'd take 40 goals from Hossa in a season along with his well rounded defensive game and superior play making over Kovalchuk any day. If Kovalchuk hits a slump he's practically useless. If Hossa hits a slump he'd still be out there killing penalties, dishing out assists, and backchecking like a mad man.

Excellent. I hope Burrows enjoys golfing as much as he loves diving and pulling hair. My only regret was that we couldn't be the ones to send him home.

The Sharks got screwed over plenty in this series too. The fact of the matter is they capitalized on their breaks and we didn't.

The diving is sad but then again we aren't exactly innocent with Draper on the ice either. The officiating has been awful both games so far, the Sharks are just capitalizing when the calls go their way. We need to do the same.

Honestly, the only way to stop Datsyuk is to do something unexpected like an early poke check or come flying out at him stacking the pads. If you give him the time and space he'll make you look silly. Catching him off guard is the only option.

When Q and the gang beats us in the playoffs and/or wins a Cup then I'll bite my tongue. Til then you're pretty much our ***** like Calgary is yours.
