This. I don't understand how some of you are comparing this to the Ovie hit unless I'm not watching the same two videos right now. Hossa barely got a glove on him and Hamhuis went down like a ton of bricks. Ovechkin literally jutted both arms out on Campbell and it resulted in broken bones I believe. Hamhuis just shook it off and skated to the bench. Just looking at the replay you plainly see Hossa stick his arm out...not even a pushing motion. I don't even fully understand how Hamhuis went down so easily unless he was trying to turn and lost an edge.

That game was almost hard to watch it was so one sided. The 5 minute major that lead to two 5 on 3's in a row didn't help.

So then you'll agree that Datsyuk was a playoff choker too last year? He only had 9 points in 16 games while Hossa had 15 pts in 23 games and was tied for 4th in overall point production for us in the playoffs. Hossa had the better ppg % in the post season and actually played through his injury while, like I said, STILL being the 4th best point producer on the team even though his shot was affected by his bum shoulder. Can't say the same for Datsyuk who is still worshipped even though his poor performance hurt us more.

lol I'd love to see Datsyuk win a cup playing on the Thrashers or Sens for most of his career.

Slew of premium draft picks? Besides Toews and Kane I can't think of anybody else they have that was a premium draft pick. Good point with Pittsburgh though.

This. Am I just not detecting the sarcasm in this thread? You'd have to be retarded to ridicule someone for performing poorly with a rotator cuff injury. Obviously none of you have had one. Do people just ignore the fact that he was hurt? At least the guy attempted to play through the injury, why is nobody ridiculing Datsyuk? Hossa still performed better in the playoffs than most of our roster and the guy was playing with an injury that would've gotten worse after each and every check he took. Hossa was great for us last year and I wish he was still here.

They're a great young team and they're going to become very dangerous in the next few seasons.

Have we beaten them yet this year with a full lineup (Hossa) and Niemi starting? Or has it always been Huet? It seems like the only time we've beaten them this year is when Huet imploded and let in a bunch in a short amount of time to let us steal back all the momentum and the lead. Without the Frenchman in net it might not be as easy. I guess we'll see.

I don't see any reason to rest players. I'd rather keep them on their skates and play to gain some momentum for the playoffs. This game is going to look like a playoff game anyway.

Don't most players play on with broken noses? I can remember at least two occasions in a game where they broke it early in the game and came back later in the same game.

Agreed. I won't even pick the Wings on Streak for the Cash. If anything I usually pick against them. That way if the Wings win I'm psyched, and if they lose my streak is extended.

Me neither. Luongo is a great player but severely overrated, especially during the Olympics.

Not surprising to hear. I don't care what Devils fans say, their team has to be one of, if not the most boring teams to watch. If they get a lead early in the game you can count on a snooze fest.
