Unfortunately I was at a wedding reception during the game, so all I got were text updates and streaming stats from espn....Fortunatley it was an open bar.... Thats another story. So I can't really say a whole lot about whats to come in Game 6. After seeing how the Pengs came at us in Game 3 I would bet they are going to come twice as hard to push a game 7. Mayb the 5-0 win is a sign we are gettin back into our game and will be ready for what will happen tomorrow night. Maybe the rest day recharged us and got us mentally back into the game. We need to come in hard and shut down any chance they have at a shot on Ozzie. Im still nervous about it, but the pressure will be on tomorrow night. It will be a great game.

I remember when this happened. And everyone has their opinion on it. So to keep things going, heres mine Personally, it was stupid. You really dont want to say something like that in such a serious manner. How many time have we wished a star player *cough* crosby *cough* would meet our good friend Kronwall at the blue line and introduce him to Kronwall's shoulder. But this is all in good fun. Should the "threat" be investigated? Certainly. Should it have been put into the media? This I disagree with. Especially with it being a juvenile that posted it and there being no real threat. It should have been investigated first, and if there was any real threat then make a story about it. Comments like that shouldn't be posted for the general public to see anyway. But on the occassions they do, they should be removed from the forums and have the police investigate. Not saying the kid really would do it, but in this day and age Id rather be safe than sorry. Have the police come and talk to him and explain why this is unacceptable and if need be take him in for questioning. Make him write a formal letter of apology to the forum/AO/ etc. Honestly I think AO is awesome and it is unfortunate they lost, but it was a great 7 game series. Better luck next year.

Anyone else find it funny the guy said something about "so the wings can count" in reference to the 7 Five Holes? Im pretty sure we can count, and we have proof the Pengs cant count. Just an observation.

Game 5 will be key for us. If we can take it, we can keep the momentum rolling into the Igloo for game 6. We do need some time to get rested though. Seems we have a lot of guys not at 100%. We def need to watch the turnovers, this has been an issue all series and I haven't seen a lot of improvement. This is so nerve racking and the games not even til tomorrow. HURRY BACK PAVEL!!!

It will be excellent if we can get Dats back out there. Even if not at 100% I think his presence alone will boost the team a bit and put some more fear in the pengs. Glad to see Draper getting back in there. We have been losing a lot of faceoffs. Lets get some puck possession back and show the Pengs how its done.

I looked up consistency in the NHL dictionary and it said "WTF?" There were plenty of missed calls/bad calls last night, unfortunatley the PK just couldn't hold out for us. I saw on at least 3 occassions where Pengs D had more blatant interference than Ericssons nudge near the boards and none of it was called. And the 20 sec 6-5 was aboslutely pathetic. How noone picked up on that is beyond me. But it happened and its done with, lets learn from game 3 and take it to game 4. Reduce the turnovers and keep playin our game.

The turnovers def made things a lot more difficult last night, especially with the pressure the pengs forwards put on us last night. We need to really watch the turnovers be the goal line. They resulted in a few scoring chances that could of turned this into a 6-2 game. I think we just lost the mental game, we knew a win would crush the pengs and give us a ton of momentum into game 4. Couple of sloppy passes, bad calls, too many turnovers, and 4 refs missing the 6 on 5... def makes pulling of a W a bit more harder. But this just opens the door for the Wings to win at home.

I am confident we will win at least 1 game in Pitt. Won't be an easy win by any means, but still. We are playing really well right now. Effectively shutting down the 2 sallys and helping out as much as we can in front of the net. Ozzie is stopping everything he possibly can, and for the akward rebounds I think we are doing great in gettin the puck away from the net. Pengs are going to bring it hard on Tuesday, if we can get a goal early and frustrate them a bit we have a great chance of taking this. Weve held them to a goal each game while Helm kills 25sec of a penalty single handedly. We can beat them. Just have to watch the turnovers at the blue line/neutral zone and keep playing smart.

Usually yes, but there is a clause to that rule that says it is up to review based on score, previous behavior, etc etc. So after considering Malkin is not the type to get major penalties and he wasn't "sending a message" they revoked the suspension. Fighting out of frustration mostly, hes still a ***** for doing it. It took how many punches for him to drop his stick? Not that im siding with him, I think it would be hilarious to see him suspended. I think he still was issued a penalty though. Z has a 5 min now on his stat sheet. At least thats what Mickey was talkin about today on the WRIF.

These first 2 games at home will play a big mental and physical factor on the rest of the series. Back to back games at home for the beginning of the SCF with some key players coming back from injury. Wings depth and preparation will handle it just fine though. We are ready and waiting to see what the Pengs got errr have errr wish they had? Wings by 2 goals tomorrow.

O'Sheas + Beer Pong + Wings game = EPIC WIN Plus the bartenders are not ones to hide their opinions of teams. Spent a lot of time discussing with one in particular. There is an ESPN Zone in New York New York (it is pretty packed though), and sports booking will have the game(s) on for sure. Just find one and get comfy.

I am a lil worried about this series, but optimistic wings in 6. Malkin/Crosby have been a thorn in every goal tenders side. Shutting them down will make our job a little easier. Not having lidstrom or dats for a game or two will def put a lot of pressure on us, but nothing the Wings are mentally and physically preparing for. Pengs have been making some great plays and taking care of business with the addition some of the guys they picked up mid year. Weve been spending all year developing a team as a solid unit and increasing our depth. You take out our top 2 lines offensively, thats fine we still have 2 more that are waiting to burn Fluery. I dont think the Pengs have enough depth to stop that. It will be a hard fought battle on each end of the ice but look for Hossa to make some plays late in the game. Helm will continue to be a beast, Mule will still make fantastic shots that have goalies pulling tricks out their asses to save, and our D will continue to play smart at the blue line and keep the pressure in the zone. And if were lucky.... Crosby will get Kronwalled. Wings in 6. Hope to see Lids and Dats back Saturday, this series is gonna start off with a bang and we need to set the bar early.

I think it will be decent tonight. Ive noticed some of the games have been getting a little more "fair and consistent." Considering the Wings have been able to kill off a few 5-3's already, they may want to re-think how they respond to the officiating. Cant be taking stupid penalties when playing against a team like the Wings.

I replied with "we understand your disgust for {list of whatever he was ranting about} but that has nothing to do with how the Red Wings play. Do you have any comments that for one second would make me think the Wings will lose?" Didn't see another post the rest of the day.
