Let me put it this way, and I'll break it down real simple for you to understand. Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk are more elite then Scott Niedermayer. Henrik Zetterberg and Pavel Datsyuk are more elite then Chris Pronger. Henrik Zetterberg is a much more complete player then Sidney Crosby. You should feel bad for having the opinions you do.

Datsyuk and Zetterberg aren't elite? Being a hart finalist, winning a Selke Trophy while being top 3 in points scored, thats not elite? Zetterberg completely shutting down the "best" forward in the game, winning a conn smythe, and putting up tons of points while still playing lights out defense isn't elite? I'll say it right here. If you don't think Zetterberg and Datsyuk are elite players, you don't know anything about hockey and should jump off your nearest 30 story building.

When you're comparing all your Dmen to Lidstrom, anybody looks average at best. Lidstrom is a beast, a legend who wont be equalled for a long long time, who will go down as one of the greatest defenseman of all time. That being said, Rafalaski, Ericcson, Kronwall and and the rest are still a great defensive team. Or is our defense only good because Osba- er, Osgood in net now?

So the Red Wings basically get the Roster that won the Stanley Cup just a year and a couple months ago back, lose a guy who was a complete non factor in the playoffs, and bring up 3 rookies who have already competed and performed great on the biggest spotlight in the world, and suddenly we're not even gonna win our division? Some of you guys need to lay off whatever you're smoking. I even read in other threads that we're a fifth seed at best XD

Embarrassed? This team has nothing to be embarrassed about, at all. The best defenseman in the world with what would normally be a season ending injury, a Hart Candidate playing on one foot after missing half the series, Rafalski with a herniated disc, Ericcson a week off of surgery, and this team still takes it to 7 games. Wings should be proud. No other team could have held the ship together as long as they did.

What exactly is there to rub our noses in? One Stanley Cup win? Hell, Tampa Bay managed to win a Stanley Cup. So did Dallas. The right set of circumstances can get nearly any teams names on that cup. Ask yourself this. If Pittsburgh had lost Malkin (their Hart Candidate) in the Eastern Conference Finals, and had their best defensive player playing with basically a torn scrotum, would they have come as far as the Red Wings did? There isn't anything Pens fans can rub Detroits fans noses into, because the fact of the matter is the Red Wings persevered through what no other team in the NHL could have, and still came amazingly close to winning it all, and have nothing to be ashamed of.

Any sports team has ******* fans, it's a fact of life. Writing articles about how the Red Wings boo'd another team (which they didn't, everyone boos Bettman) is just dumb. I didn't see any articles getting written when Detroit beat Pittsburgh and those oh-so-charming fans (who have beens fans forever, I'm sure!) boo'd Zetterberg and chanted Crosby! Crosby! when he lifted the Conn Smythe. Big deal, cry more I say.
