If this playoff has taught me anything, it's that as long as you dont draw blood or break a stick it wont get called. I wouldn't mind seeing us get a little more punishing physically. Not sure if it warrants any big roster changed though.

Anytime a Red Wings game was not on and a Pens game was, I watched that game. Sometimes the Wild too. The vast majority of times the puck is carried into Pittsburghs zone, Crosby would be behind the play gliding. You don't see Pavel or Zetterberg doing that, and both of those players can still put the puck in the net. Wow, so I disagree with you and the best you can do is call me jackass. You sure are a bright one.

They could market so many more players though. Better players, even. Watching the game with some people who aren't hockey fans this year (not many of them in hawaii) even they got sick of it. Commercials, starring Crosby. Watch our ISO-cam, with Crosby. Red Wings scored a goal, lets get a reaction shot of Crosby on the bench! It's getting old, and they really need to put new players / teams out into the spotlight.

Malkin definately tore us a new one this season, and once he grows up a bit and stops taking retarded penalties hopefully some of the Pittsburgh spotlight gets shown on him. Also, does he speak English? I just noticed I never saw an interview with him.

Crosby plays good D now? Coulda fooled me. He's a great player for what he does, which is making plays and scoring goals, but a good dman he is not.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't see why they chose Crosby of all people to represent the NHL. He's a diver, whines far too much, and in all honesty, I really don't think he's even that good. Not to say he's a bad player by any means, but Zetterberg completely shut him down for the second year running. Also, he can't even grow a beard. Come on.

Well, as a Wings fan, I'd honestly hate losing to the Ducks more than the Pens. As a Hockey fan, I hate seeing the pens win. Being awarded a Stanley Cup for years of mismanagement is just a travesty, and I can already see the commercials next season

What the hell games were you watching? in case you didn't notice, our defense this playoffs was absoloutly terrible by Red Wings standards. The only reason we made it as far as we did was because of Osgood. Take that "He's only good cause of the system" crap right out the door with you.

Watching this playoffs, I really saw flashes of Steve Yzerman every time Zetterberg stepped out onto the ice. I really dont think any player on the Red Wings even came close to showing his heart and determination during the entire run. A lot of the time I just felt like it was him, Helm and Osgood out there. despite this loss, I still feel like when Lidstrom finally hangs up those skates, this team is in good hands with Hank.

You just gotta think like this... "It could have been worse." I'm not quite sure how exactly it could have been worse, but I'm sure it could have >_>

You can't honestly look at say, Zetterberg or Kronwall and say they didn't try. Seeing Zetterberg on the ice after the clock wound down just looking crushed, and Kronwall obviously crying on the bench shows you that these guys wanted it, but if I learned anything in my time playing sports, it's that wanting it doesn't get you it. Being tired is a simple medical fact. You can push your muscles all you want, but sometimes they just got nothing left to give.

On the plus side, we'll have lots of young blood we didn't have before. Helm and Ericcson, maybe Leino with an entire season of expierence leading up to the playoffs with what they went through last year? Gotta remember, in a lot of ways this was a rookie team. With the amount of injuries we had, many of our players went from banging around in the minors to being dumped onto the most storied franchise in the modern NHL. With a damn close cup run and soon to be a regular season under their belt to hone their skills some, we'll be a pretty fierce beast for years to come.

personally, i thought the short turn around and back to back games was a travesty. The Stanley Cup Finals should be about who is the better team, not who managed to get their with the least injuries. Give a team a guaranteed 8-9 days off from the end of their conference finals series, and I think you'd see a lot tighet games being played. as for changes during the regular season, hockey is a brutal sport. Playing games like you outlined just seems to be a recipe for disaster.

As far as I'm concerned, Manny Legace is a persona non grata. To this day I still hold him personally responsible for ruining Yzermans shot to go out on top.

I'll admit, I just have that empty feeling in my gut as well. Half my family is now laid off, looking for jobs out of state, the Lions are a joke, the Pistons got swept, the Wings got so close to see it slip away from them to a guy who's face is plastered anywhere the NHL can stick it, when he can't even grow a beard... Times is hard, and they only seem to be getting harder =[

I can only sit and wonder what could have been if the NHL had stuck to it's original schedule =[. Datsyuk back from the start of the series could have switched everything around. But what ifs and what could have happens will just drive you crazy, I suppose.
