What did he make last year?

"NHLPA has filed a grievance over the Chicago Blackhawks mishandling of a number of its qualifying offers and intends to argue the players affected by the mishap, who remain unsigned, should be ruled unrestricted free agents." Wow. And furthermore, there is reports of a "powerstruggle" going on within the Blackhawks upper management. Talk about offseason drama! Hossa must be doing the ultimate facepalm right about now...

I'm not optimistic that Holland gets Hudler signed, but Holland could keep Lebda and trade Lilja. That would free up some money. With that said, I am NOT optimistic that Hudler signs.
-
How can they trade Versteeg, isn't he like UFA because Chicago f***ed it all up?
-
Congrats. I read the hawks board and some fans are calling for his head because he's a "backstabbing piece of s***" who "is plotting against the blackhawks" organization. Of course I remember Blackawks fans (on the same boards) during the WCF hated Hossa and thought he was the biggest piece of s***, but now he's a Hawk, he is god... I expect your fans to give AJ the same recourse. Hawks fans seem quick to stab their players in the back, then open their arms to "the biggest piece of s*** in the NHL" very quickly. Odd how that works.

Jeremy Williams & Kris Newberry sign with Wings / GR?
Snazzy replied to titanium2's topic in General
I'm very excited about this. I bet if you put him and Helm on a line together, they'll get lots of pucks in net. Helm being a fast backchecking, backhecking and hard working forward, stealing pucks to feed Williams, the rest will be history. looks and sounds good on paper anyhow. -

Still a solid signing for Grand Rapids. -

Wow, he's tiny. How big is he? edit, nevermind, just looked it up. He's only 5'10". -
Penguins want Wild's Mikko Koivu and Cal Clutterbuck for Evgeni Ma

Dumb thread. This belongs in trade rumors or the fantasy boards... We could make a dumb thread here like Wings fans want to trade Draper and Maltby for Hedman... -

Jeremy Williams is a pretty good scorer. He knows how to put the puck in net. Our depth just got deeper. -
THIS JUST IN.... Penguin fans think Hudler will take a discount and go to Pittsburgh for a better shot at winning the cup. haha

I'm not happy about this at all.

According to the blackhawks board, the posters there believe that the NHL and NHLPA should turn a blind cheek to the matter because Chicago is an up and coming original six team that will make the NHL a lot of money and winning product the league needs.
-
It would be much better if a posters (aka couch GM) second guesses the Red Wings GM when they have merit. i.e. Tallon is the perfect example of a GM who should be second guessed and micromanaged, not Holland.
-
Wow, $800,000 is a freakin bargain for a player at Leino's caliber. Kenny is a freakin magician.
-
Really? Second guessing the best GM in the league? Second guessing the man who made Detroit the powerhouse of the millenium, the man who, despite the post-lockout, found a way to beat the salary cap that was expected to destroy the Detroit Red Wings? You're really second guessing that guy?

Pretty funny how the admin/mods allowed the kid stalking to post Ozzy's address (and pictures?), but when Ozzy went on there to clear the air, the entire thread gets deleted. I hope they got a cease and desist letter from Ozzy's attorney.

http://www.pensionplanpuppets.com/2009/6/2...t-that-great-at Just goes to show that anyone can publish a blog.

It takes less than 60 seconds to create a throw away email account. I make them all the time to avoid spam to my real email accounts.

"No one left on the free agent crop really wows me" This can not be said enough. Holland doesn't need a player that 'wows' you or other GM / Scouts. He needs the (unknown) player that fits. Holland is the master at getting players that doesn't "wow" anyone and finding the diamond in the rough. See Cleary.

You and I agree 100%. I was just thinking the same thing... what makes NHL players (or other sports players) so different than other human beings? I own/operate a blog website that gets 450,000+ hits per month and I search out forums and blogs that talk about my site to see what they are saying. And think about their travel time during the regular season, I'm sure more guys than not log on to the internet while flying to Cali (or far away states) just to kill time... Remember the FSN thing about how the Red Wings travel and the camera boards the plane? Did you notice all the guys on their laptops while in the air? I'm not a flyer, does planes get internet?
-
wow. Ozzy posting on the Pens boards isn't as incredible as the poster who is stalking him and his family. That's just creepy! Who does that? I am seriously sicken by the penguins fans... they take classless to an entirely new level. and it's sad!

I was actually thinking about this earlier today but didn't feel like starting a thread. With LA getting hungry and look to be building themselves up, perhaps Stuart would waive his NTC and we could get Cam Barker from Chicago -- providing that NHLPA deems him a UFA due to Chicago's incompetence / QO issues. Just a random thought.
-
Guys, I just figured out what happened. Apparently since Hawks' Hossa signing and Campbell / cap issues, Hawks couldn't afford to send the Qualifying Offer via UPS or FedEx overnight with a signature confirmation. All they could afford was a snail mail stamp @ 0.44 cent after taking back 5 Pepsi cans.... Damn that salary cap! This is the kind of stuff that we should expect to see in Chicago for the next 12 years.
-
I can agree with that. A 41 year old Nick will still be one solid defensmen. Though nobody should suggest he'll be remotely close to a 34/35 year old Nick. Nick wasn't even human in the prime of his career.
