Great 2004 draft by the Wings. We have a bright future ahead of us!
-
Wow, this kid OWNES!!!
-
I bet all the other GM's are bitching out their scouts.... asking them how they let this guy slip past the radar.
-
TSN: Tatar was Slovakia's top forward at the 2009 world junior hockey championship in Ottawa. He led the team with 11 points (7-4-11), which was tied for the fourth best total in the tournament overall. - Style: Sergei Samsonov - HT/WT: 5-11/176

I would love to get this kid with our 60th. And I want Cory Eakin with our 75th!!!
-
He's going to be a great fit. He's an energy guy and a great skater.
-

Wings Trade thier first round pick to Tampa

You can have your wish. Check out CODY EAKIN! He is a Darren Helm's clone. "Cody is a tremendous skater and a lot of the things he does come from his skating ability. He's also ultra-competitive, and where he has a lot of success is getting in on the forecheck and chasing and racing for loose pucks. He also uses his speed a lot with the puck on the entries into the offensive zone. His speed also helps him in the defensive zone by catching guys from behind and creating turnovers in situations where guys who don't skate as well wouldn't be able to do. He beats a lot of guys to the outside and that's because of his skating ability." -- http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?fid=11898 -
There was a post in the draft thread from mlive stating that Jim Nil announced that he was happy that 5 picks were still available on their list and that's why they traded down. [paraphrased] Just saying...
-
I like his size and his style. Mmm, wonder if we could pick him with our 60th pick... Also check out this kid named CODY EAKIN. He is a known for his stellar skating abilities, much like Darren Helm and he shoots left. Might be a nice pickup with our 75th pick. http://www.tsn.ca/draftcentre/feature/?fid=11898

Wings have "five" players on their list. Why not trade the 29th for a chance to get more players that might be on their list?
-
And high first round drafts ALWAYS pan out to be studs. Just another exception, right? Keep digging
-
I was looking more at the way he handled the puck, controlled the puck and skated with the puck... and executed. His skating was impressive to. His size is a concern, but someone said he was 5'11"... if that's true, then... I dunno, just weird that different places have different specs on the kid.
-
Really? Then explain how players like Franzen, Lidstrom, Zetterberg, Datsyuk were all still on the board when the Red Wings drafted them....

Get it done Kenny!

I would love to see this list... Carter Ashton would have been nice, but we'll get two goodies now, instead of just one. -
thehockeywriters.com have him at 160. I wonder if Wings had their hearts set on Olsen and when Chi-Town took him, decided to trade for someone who will go deeper (like Ferraro / Klingberg / Werek)?

Carl Klingberg or even Ethan Werek might be good choices. -
f*** NO on picking Toni Rajala, we don't need a 5'8" 160ib forward that doesn't understand defense. Carl Klingber on the other hands sounds like a nice choice. He's compared to the "Mule" and is a physical beast. Uses his size well at 6'3" @ 205ibs. He's a fit for North American Hockey. His projected offense is 8/10 and Defense is 8/10. Not bad. http://thehockeywriters.com/36-carl-klingb...draft-rankings/

Toni Rajala? f*** no! We don't need a 5'8" 160ib forward. I know he has offensive talent but he's not defensively sound and he'll get murdered in the NHL. -
Olsen seemed like a good pick too. I really don't want another small or soft player. I want the Wings to pick up a gritty sandpaper in your face tough drive hard to the net defensively responsible type player.
-
Holland probably could have traded up for a better pick if he really wanted to. I have a feeling Kenny has something big up sleeve.
-
heh. Too small anyhow.
-
Who cares about the history lesson and languges guys, lets talk hockey! Take the other BS to the general discussion forum. I hope the Wings pick someone with size and strength.

Thank you. No word on Colorado yet?
