Not one Pens fan wanted to discuss how they'd feel if Crosby or Malkin, their best face off man (selke winner), and Defensman-Defensman (top PK'r and shot blocker) were ALL out of their lineup with injuries... funny how they wish to avoid that scenario at all costs. But we're just expected to not 'mention' the fact that Detroit has some key injuries right now? Man I hope KronWALL knocks Crosby the f*** out of the series!!! Then we can see the PENS FANS whine about how unfair this meanie Kronwall hurt your little poster boy. SOMEBODY CALL THE WhAAAAAM-BULANCE. If your "almighty" team DOES NOT beats us while many of our guys are injured, then you need to admit that your team sucks! Oh, and remember -- the road to the Stanley Cup runs through HOCKEYTOWN!

Red Wings just need to show up and play THEIR game. That's all they need to to win this series. Pretty simple, really.
-
Who's worried? We're playing the fukin Pittsburgh Penguins. Ducks would be the team to be worried about, not the lowly eastern Pens team. We already owned this team last year when they were better. Now we're better (Hossa and Franzen).
-
Am i missing something? Coach Babcock didn't even talk in it.. he was in it for an entire 3 seconds?
-
Ut-oh, I just got the memo: Oh'z-No'z
-
Those Penguin bozo's better eat their Wheaties and get a bigger stick. Kronwall and Stuart are going to CRUSH 'EM!
-
I doubt this will be the most exciting of the series. I don't think anything can match Wings/Ducks series. That was nothing less than spectacular.
-
Hey guys, did you get the memo? :flush:

Yeah, no s*** right. If they played in the West, they'd be below Chicago. Chicago is a better team than the 2009 Penguins and would own them in 6 games at the most. I find it funny that they think they upgraded since last playoffs. The downgraded in terms of depth and defense. Sure their two stars are playing well, better than last year. Yet they refuse to comprehend that we are a MUCH better team than last year too. And I don't mean just with the Hossa factor, but this year we have a healthy Franzen and our young guys are dominating. Hell, even Flip (or 3rd line guy) was shutting down Getzlaf. Malkin is in for a big surprise if he thinks he's going to play well against Flip. And we already know Zetterberg owns Crosby. What else is funny is their #1 Dman would be our #3 at best. Our #5 would be their #2. We owned the Pens before, we'll just keep handing their asses back to them until they realize they are overrated in the Finals. I can't wait to see the Peguins cry again...

Lol! Yeah this cracks me up too... Hossa took a freakin PAY CUT to play on a superior team, and he's viewed as a traitor. I'd hate to see how Pens fans act if they get dumped by a girl they date for 3 months... from the attitude that I see from them, they'll probably stalk and harass her on myspace and facebook. They really do need to let it go. It's pathetic, their obsession is just mental! Hossa took a pay cut to play on a superior team, GET THE FOCK OVER IT ALREADY!!!!

From reading some of the Pens fan's posts on both this forum and theirs, they refuse to accept statistics unless it's in their favor. From reading some of the posts on their forum, they believe that they are already a sure lock to win the Stanley Cup because of Crosby and Malkins post-season points. When +/- and defense is mentioned, they'll refuse to respond, they'll comeback with "Stats are meaningless" as they ride off about how "Crosby and Malkin are the BESTESTESZZ PLAYERZZ IN THE WHOLE WIDE WORLDZZZZ--Just look at their goal statz!" I'm yet to read one intelligent post from a Pens fan.

While I agree Pens are going to be better than last year, they still aren't there yet. Even with our injuries, Pens just doesn't have enough to take Detroit in the best of 7. And of course the Pens will be better than last year, they weren't good at all last year.... they had no place to go but up. One thing the Pens fans don't realize is Detroit is better than last year. Osgood is playing out of his mind, we have the Franzen factor this year, we have the Hossa factor, we have more mature young guys in Hudler, Filpulla, Helm Ericsson and Lebda. Cleary was our MVP (along with Ozzie) at the end of Ducks on though the Hawks series. Sammy has been responsible and putting in that timely goal. Stuat and Kronwall are nothing less than BEASTS on the ice (keep you head up Pens--or you will get knocked the F OUT!). Despite our two key guys being injured, they will come in HUNGRY and the other boys will feed off it. Oh, and I encourage Pens fans to BOO Hossa, that will give him sustained energy and he will feed off it

Dats and Lidstrom do have nagging injuries, but they would have played if it was do or die game 7. However, we had no extreme pressure so it was more beneficial to rest them. Of course he's not going to come out publicly and announce it. I'm sure by game 1 they'll be well rested and ready to rock and roll.

The Pittsburgh's' defense in the Carolina series was horrid. They had so many open holes and weak areas that Red Wings will pounce on and exploit. Pittsburgh didn't beat Canes, Canes beat themselves. They were absolutely bad in that series, their players had no heart and they just mailed it in. Pittsburgh will go into this series thinking they are better than they are. Unless, Pens change their game (and work on their defense), Wings will sweep the Pens. Most of Pens success is puck possession, Pens won't have the puck very much in the Finals. So they better learn how to play defense and tighten up their game very quickly, otherwise Detroit will exploit and dominate them.

Wow, we're rocking in the playoffs, our entire team is kicking ass and taking names. No sense in starting controversy. Who cares about regular season? Since when does regular season points win championships? Whoever said Flip isn't worth his keep is ignorant and knows nothing about the game. Flip is a solid player and worth his keep... and he's only going to get better. Not sure why anyone (who is a Red Wings fan) would hate on Flip or his salary, but I'm sure there's ignorant fans everywhere. This Younguns poster sounds like a tool shed. (if he really did say these things about Flip... obviously he's ignorant about hockey if this is true). Who cares?, forget about it
-
With the way the Wings are playing right now, I don't think any team can stop them. Our depth is just downright incredible.
-
The schedule pisses me off. I have no idea how they can tamper with it, especially when it affects the outcome of the series. I say win tonight and drop game 2 against the Pens. Then just win game 3 and 4 in the Pitts. Come home and win game 5 for a home victory.
-
Gonchar is good for what he is. But he would be on our 3rd man at best... but that wouldn't be an upgrade, since Stuart and Kronwall are absolute beasts in the playoffs. I'll take Stuart and Kronwall over a powder puff QB (since we have Lids and Ralfi).
-
They cannot back up anything they claim. All they can do is 'change the subject' or 'dodge the facts'. I hope the Penguins players are as arrogant as their fans. With that said, a quick visit on their board shows they don't have much hockey knowledge in general. But they do get a pass, since their team hasn't really done much in their history. I'm sure most of their fans never even knew that Pittsburgh had a NHL hockey team until last year about this time.
-
One of those "2 crummy teams" is better than your team. Don't let your arrogance dilute your critical thinking. Hawks > Penguins Your team played '3 crummy teams' in comparison.
-
*If* Pens can bring their A game for 60 minutes, every player on their roster plays above and beyond their capabilities, consistently. And if Detroit Red Wings have lots of key injuries, such as Lids, Dats, Drapes and Lilja. Then Pens might have a chance at winning a best of 7. But that's a lot of *ifs*! I also expect the calls to favor the Pens. But first, Detroit needs to put away Hawks. Hawks > Pens

You watch Versus and listen to Bettman too much. Your confusing "poster boys" with superstars. Our 'non-superstars' OWNED your superstars. That must not make you feel very well, huh? You really should stop listening to all the media hype polishing Crosby's and Malkin's nob... It's diluting your common sense.
-
I don't think Staal is overrated. I think he's pretty solid player. In fact, he'd be a nice fit on the Detroit Red Wings. Maybe after his contract expires in 4 years, he'll take a big pay cut and come to Detroit for a chance to win his first Stanley Cup. But he is overpaid compared to Red Wings' standards, he makes as much as our top power forward, Franzen.
-
Pens had it easy. They won't get it so easy when playing a Western team.
-
I can agree with his points. I can understand why seeing the same two teams again wouldn't be exciting, unless you have some kind of investment into them. (like pens fans wanting to get even/prove a point and Wings fans wanting to prove Crosby / Malkin is over hyped.) To be honest, I didn't/don't want to see them in the finals. I was hoping to see Boston or Caps represent the east, and I was hoping for either Detroit or Chicago to represent the West.
