I have an idea that might work for situations where the goal is questionable, in regards to the puck passing the goal line or not. There should be some type of electronic strip on the goal line, and when the puck passes it, it triggers the goal light. I know that will probably never happen in this day and age of the NHL (especially if screwing is the main reason why some are called and some aren't), but it seems like they would have something like this. It isn't technologically impossible. Seems quite simple to me actually. I'm just so very sick of seeing a good goal not called, and a no goal called as a goal. This must end. I will stop watching any NHL games if it doesn't. I'm sorry but it just ruins it for me.

I think Franzen is itching to get back, and is going to be sinking many pucks in the net. He seems like the type of guy that would get really fired up from being out for so long.

I would see it as kind of like a land-mine, where the puck is on it, and once it passes it triggers. I just know for a fact that something like this could easily be worked out, and implemented. In regards to the intent to blow, at least there would be more conclusive evidence that the puck did in fact go over the line. There would at least be some ground to stand on. Also it would show the world how much of a screwing it was if the ref did actually "have the intent to blow", and the puck did in fact go over the line and trigger the mechanism.

I agree with you Miller Brew, it is frustrating as hell seeing this type of s*** (s*** describes it best) happen. I love the game but I don't like how the league is being run. I thought about bitching to them (writing to the league), but they aren't going to give a s*** what anyone is bitching about... The only thing that will make them change their ways is if they start going into the red, unfortunately.

I agree completely that the NHL is a joke, hence why they would never implement anything like this.

With micro technology, I think they could do it without messing with the pucks weight. It could be as simple as painting some type of substance on the puck that triggers the strip on the goal line (like painting the teams logo with the substance).

The Stars don't even get the puck across the ******* line and it counts.... When the Wings have it IN it is no goal, RIGHT?? f*** me freddy.... This just pisses me off, I'm sorry but that is just a very very s***ty call.

It looked like he took a couple pucks to the chest during that PK (one after the other). Even after getting hit with the puck twice, he still cleared it. If he can play this same way come playoff time on the PK, along side Helm, that will be great. If I can remember correctly, the PK last year in the playoffs was kinda s***ty.

I wish the Flames or some team in the NHL would've given him a shot again. He really deserved a chance. He looked pretty damn good during the preseason, in which I'm sure he was rusty from not playing. I hope they hang the bastard that assaulted him.

In my opinion, this game was pretty important. No one showed up tonight. The Wings are going to need some winning streaks longer than a couple games if they want to make the playoffs. Nobody is going to let them win.
