To everyone bitching about Lidstrom not scoring: The guy is almost 40. Give him a break. He's been playing nearly 30mins or over every game lately. He is still playing great defensively. It's up to guys like Dats to put the puck in the net. He needs more heat under his ass than Lids, especially since the team is so depleted right now of key players.

Every time Bertuzzi scores, this thread is at the top.

I was thinking that since the city of Detroit is doing so bad, the negative energy is effecting the Wings. Do most of the injuries happen on home ice?

They can't risk any more injuries out there, that's why they are more resistant to block shots. Hell, if they can deflect the puck with their stick, that's good enough (as long as it doesn't wind up in the net). The team doesn't need any more injuries. I think we'll see more blocked shots in the playoffs.

Osgood hasn't stolen many games this year, and has not been playing as good as he can be. Like most everyone is saying, the team can't take a chance on mediocre play when there will most likely be a fight to make the playoffs. They've played Howard, and he seems to be doing well. The only thing that matters here is winning games. If Osgood's s*** isn't together, the Wings won't win games with him in net. For now, Howard seems to have his s*** together and is winning games. Hence, playing Howard. I feel as though this will only last this reg. season, until the playoffs, and the team will take a chance on Osgood being stellar, or being a bust. In my personal opinion, I feel as though Osgood should be playing stellar right now, because in a sense, the playoff hopes are right now. If goaltending doesn't steal some games here, I think that will put a damper on the playoff hopes.

Howard has made 30 or more saves the past 3 games. He may make a few mistakes every now and then, but I feel as though he is going to give Ozzy a run for his money. I'm hoping they give Eaves more ice time tonight! He had a hell of a game last night.

Lol. It's funny that you say that, because I just got an HD tv, and every game so far with the new tv has been a loss I know they will win this one though.

I really like Eaves. I think he is going to make something of himself with the Wings. He is a +8.

I would've rather seen Howard in net, I feel more confident in the team with him in there (especially in shootouts). Also, they should have let Eaves have a chance in the shootout instead of Leino.

I agree with you. I don't know the stat for sure, but I bet they are spending much less time in the offensive zone. People have to remember, he is a defenseman. If the Wings play well, and spend more time in the offensive zone while Lidstrom is on the ice, the offensive points will come. He still looks solid to me defensively.

I hate putting down players on the team, but I feel as though Bertuzzi was a poor choice as well. He hasn't done much for the team thus far. I don't think the chemistry is right, or will ever be right with him. He seems to be a logo hunter. I have yet to see him do anything worthy of being on this team. I think that Eaves, for 500k, was a great choice. I think he has tons of potential, and will probably come through with this team. I feel as though he could be a 20+ goal scorer. He also passes well, and is a fast skater. I think this is the perfect team for him to find his scoring touch again. I just wish he could get more ice time.

It doesn't hurt too bad anymore. At least the Wings have a 7-6 game advantage in the finals against the Pens. It took the Pens 7 games to beat the injury ridden Wings.

Just think, if the Wings played just a little bit better, this would've been a whole different game. They played like crap and were close. Nice job by the Pens though, they played great.

I was just thinking about this, but wouldn't it be nice if Hoss scores the game 6 winning goal? That would be a fitting ending to his Stanley Cup run.

One more thing I wanted to add here, about composure. Look at the loss game 4. Red Wings in the 3rd period did not give up, did not get frustrated, and kept the Pens out of the net for the rest of the game. Look at the Pens, they don't even try to keep in the game, they just become goons and try to take out Wings players. Pens do not deserve to win the Cup.
