I agree too. I'd love to see Eaves on the team for a long time. Your right too, players take pay cuts just to play here, but if another team were to dangle a 2.5m contract or similar... who knows? Do you also have the feeling that the team isn't using him to the best of his ability? I know he is used to kill penalties, but we all know what he can do when paired on a top offensive line. I'm not sure if Holmstrom has been playing on the first or second line recently, but if so, he could alternate with Eaves every other game.

I'm worried about another team making him an offer. IMO he is a goal scorer, and paired with a play-maker, he could easily score 30 goals a year.

Yes, you're right. I'm just a little frustrated after seeing that 4-1 lead get blown like it was nothing, by a Phx team on a 5 game losing streak. Oh well, water under the bridge as every regular season game is up to this point. I guess I should have said if they continue their current play, it will be an early exit. But, I know they will turn it on come April.

A key factor in winning the Cup is holding leads. If they are having this much trouble holding leads, I don't see them getting out of the second round. Seems like they had this problems during last years playoff as well. Cost them some important wins.

For the love of all that's holy, give this guy more ice time! At least give him a shot on the PP. Right handed shot, with a wicked wrister, and good defensively. I'm sure he'd have no problem keeping the puck in the zone (on the left point).

What it boils down to is Eaves getting more ice time. Once he gets more ice time, and proves himself better, I'm sure he'd be getting a chance on the PP. I see potential in Eaves. I don't think that your suggestion is crazy at all. Hopefully he can also be more comfortable next year, and really prove to Babcock that he is ready to be put on the PP.

Perhaps with a little more ice time, Eaves could be a 20 goal scorer again. I know the guy has it in him. That would be a nice surprise.
