Interestingly, the NHL has a procedure in place anytime video review is used: Wouldn't it be great to be privy to that fax or email!

I don't think you can expect perfection (I asked IC readers the same question) from the ref's but that's the point of video review. To correct any mistakes made by the officials.

I don't know if they do, but if not, they should. After watching the video, its a terrible call.

Ok now that I can actually see the video I don't understand the "intent rule". Who cares if his intent was to blow his whistle if the puck was already in the net. Anyone care to clarify?

I was at the gym so I was watching the game but didn't hear the explanation as to why the whistle was blown, or if it wasn't why the goal was disallowed. What was the reason given?

A similar thing happened to me courtesy of someone on Letsgowings. A buddy and I were planning on going to the Ducks/Wings game and we were going to buy student tickets but knew that b/c it was a Sat night we'd likely be sitting in the nosebleeds. (the seats turned out to be 218 A row 21, behind the goal, but luckily we never used them). I was chatting with someone from here who had tickets but couldn't make it to the game and he graciously told me his seat numbers so I could sit in his seats for the game as he wasn't going to be able to use them. Best seats I've ever had at the Joe. (lower bowl). Thanks again to my fellow Canuck!!!

Watching Draper during the warm up skate before the Ducks game makes me wonder if he will ever retire. He was smiling the entire time as well as laughing, joking and having a good time. Love the way he plays the game.

Ericsson's problem seems to be he has no idea how to use his size to his advantage. The crowd wasn't happy when he avoided the fight (although it was on the far end so it was hard to see what happened). We can thank him for that pass to Getzlaf which got the Ducks back in the game and made the 3rd so entertaining. For those living along the Northern Border (at least here in Michigan) you can get an enhanced license which is good for 5 years. (my buddy from the U.P. just got one). Going to tonight's game vs. Ducks! (wearing Wpg Jets hat)
