If the team that played Game 7 against Phoenix showed up, we would win the series no problem. They gotta wanna - for 3600 seconds - every player - no exceptions! pffft - these guys are highly paid professionals - piece o-cake - we got this in the bag.

I may be in the minority, but I really like the current location at the Joe - downtown, on the river. I always enter/exit at the river entrance and park on the far side of Cobo - adds to the whole event atmosphere. Far better than having a stadium in the middle of a many-acres parking lot or jammed onto some generic city block somewhere. I say rehab the Joe or replace with a new arena very near by.

Howard gives up a few too many rebounds and gets too far from the crease too often for my taste but he has certainly performed above and beyond expectations this season and has had a fine playoff run for a rookie. Anyone who has watched most of the games or read any small portion of the endless posts and threads on LGW would know that. "A million Michigan shoppers can't be wrong."

The more I think about it, this really is a testament to team success with 19 straight years in the playoffs and many long runs at that. Hell, Homer has 8 more playoff games as a Wing than Gordie Howe and is 8th on the all-time points list (only 2 pts behind Z). Draper is 18th and has played 210 playoff games (Second only to Lidstrom at 245)! Feels like Franzen is just getting established and he is 13th on the points list. Z and Pavel (currently 10th) and Mule are a looooong way from done getting playoff points for the Wings in their careers. All 3 should easily pass Delvecchio who is currently 5th at 104 pts.

I had the same thought - team won't be fired up to travel back to SJ so we might not see the burning desire to win game 4. But if we win game 4, then why not win game 5 and play another one at home... Then.... who knows. gotta win Game 4.

Z was just receiving the pass with his skate, but OK under the current rules maybe it isn't allowed - stupid. The Homer slashing was pure fabrication to eliminate our power play - stat sheet makes it look like we got a power play but in reality we did not. Sure the Wings had too many lapses in this series, but the refs truly dictated and controlled the outcome of these three games. Pisses me off.

people mover before the game if you are coming over an hour ahead, and grab a free shuttle back to greektown afterwards. Shuttles line up along the river outside the riverside entrance - just hop on one and it'll take you back to whatever bar it came from. As for jerseys, I'd be really surprised if you could get a Konstantinov except by special order. I would hope you could get an Yzerman though. Have a blast at the game. And yell your friggin head off. We are counting on you!

Kane had the worst +/- of any player in the playoffs last year. Said his job was to score goals, NOT to play defense. I'd put Toews on my team, but Kane -- not a chance.

After the Olympics I went back to the old magic from the Yzerman Stanley Cup years -- black long sleeve underneath a black and red Wings shirt. Every game since we've won if I am wearing that, lost if not, and OT loss with a bad start if I didn't put it on until after the game started. Yup - all my fault. If we are winning and playing well I've been adding my Wings jersey on top to try to get the magic to rub off since I miss wearing the jersey and I definitely will wear the jersey at the Joe for Game 3 (with the other shirts underneath) - the magic seems to be gaining traction on the jersey. Go Wings!

I think the Wings end up in 5th with 102 pts, or 7th. Would be great to get 5th, face Phoenix in round 1.
