What was that about Marian Hossa scoring goals in Game 4's again??? I dont see any threads here tonight about it. Tell me again how Marian Hossa goes nuts in Game 4 and is just completely unstoppable...

Not according to Snazzy it isnt he thinks it's because they dont call nothing on Gill and Scuderi and that it was all the refs fault and had nothing to do with the Wings inept play at times throughout game 3... -

Im not talking about Dupuis stick anymore Im talking about Game 3 stats of the Pens outhitting the Wings 36-17, the Wings getting 3 shots in the 3rd period, and Fleury outplaying Osgood. That's what I was trying to tell Snazzy moron a few minutes ago and he ignored it and went back to the Dupuis Hossa thing cause he has no argument for any of those things because they are facts... -

Im not bashing him for drinking water I just think it's strange that he has to take a drink of water everytime before he answers a question at every single one of his press conferences. I just think it's weird and it makes him look narotic as hell. He doesnt whine too often you're right but when he does do it on occasion like he did the other night he does it real quiet without making it out to be that he is complaining... -

Yea too bad everything I said above is the truth go look up the stat sheet dip s*** it doesnt lie...So you fail just like the Wings will fail to win game 4 tonight with Jesus Christ Almighty Datsyuk returning to the lineup... -

My point was you're trying to act like the only reason the Pens won Game 3 was because of that power play call in the 3rd period...Like I said the Red Wings were out hit by 19,Fleury outplayed Osgood, and the Wings only had 3 shots in the 3rd period, and had numerous chances to get the 3rd goal in the 2nd period when they got the late power play in the period when they were dominating the game and didnt get it done... -

Yea kind of like they let Hossa get away with breaking Dupuis stick in the 2nd period in game 2 on Sunday, and Samuellson interfering with Malkin before the Ericsson goal on the faceoff that tied the game at 1 as well in the 2nd period in Game 2. It's not like Detroit didnt have chances to take the lead in the game on Tuesday night. They totally dominated the 2nd period and got a power play chance late in the 2nd period as well. The bottom line is the Wings had numerous chances and they didnt get it done... The Penguins out hit the Wings by 19 in Game 3 and Fleury made more key saves then Osgood. How about pointing to that as a reason to why the Penguins won game 3 instead of blaming the refs for calling interference on Ericsson which by the way was a legit call seeing that Cooke didnt have the puck and Ericsson blatantly grabbed on to him to make sure he didnt get the puck. Let Babcock keep whining about the Pens getting the one power play in the 3rd and the Wings not getting it like he did after the game on Tuesday. God forbid Babcock ever admits while he sips his water bottle 50,000 times during a press conference that the other team actually played better then the Wings and won without having an excuse... -
I love how all these Red Wings fans, after their series with the Ducks, proclaim that that round was "The Real Stanley Cup Finals" and how the Ducks would beat every Eastern Conference team by a margin of 17 goals per game.
-
The Pens clearly out physicalled the Wings (Hits: Pens 36 Wings 17). Faceoffs were almost even. Fleury outplayed Osgood for the first time. I think the two teams are closer than people give them credit for. Red Wings have the edge but the Pens, at least some of them, have the talent to keep up and out play them.

Boy feeling a little overconfident and cocky arent we?? All 3 of these games so far have all been either one goal games going into the 3rd period with the Wings scoring twice in games 1 and 2 late in the 2nd period to take the lead, and last night the game was tied going into the 3rd. The Penguins are a much better team then the Blackhawks and are not going to get frustrated and go nuts like the Hawks did in Game 4 and totally lose control. The longer these series go it seems like in this playoff season for the Penguins the stronger and better the Penguins get. A lot of people on here I keep reading and seeing just automatically keep assuming the Wings are just going to roll into game 4 tomorrow night and smoke the Pens like they did the Ducks and the Hawks the last two series and then win the Cup on home-ice in game 5. It isnt going to be no blowout tomorrow night one way or another. The Pens are very good at home and have some momentum going into game 4 and the Wings once again will have a very hard time coming into the Igloo tomorrow night and taking game 4.
-
Well good hopefully he is rusty on a shift against our best line so far this series speaking of the Malkin, Talbot, Fedotenko line early on in the game and turns the puck over and it leads to a goal.
-
Well it doesn't change how the Pens will play. Even if he's 100%...the Penguins need to continue to get shots on net, play physical, and work hard just like they've been doing all playoffs.

Crosby was injured remember last year with a broken ankle and it took him weeks before he was able to play at near 100 percent and be as effective as he normally is. Now I know Datsyuk's injury is not as severe as Crosby's ankle was last season. But for people on here expecting him to just come back and play against a guy like Malkin right away and be Superman is just not realistic. But my point is and this is just my opinion while having Datsyuk back Im sure will give the Red Wings a good boost, I dont think he will be that much of a factor tomorrow night if he plays in determining the outcome of the game.

I know Detroit is a damn good hockey team and absolutely relentless at times, but was this guy watching the same game? The Pens clearly out physicalled the Wings (Hits: Pens 36 Wings 17). No mention of that at all. Faceoffs were almost even. Fleury outplayed Osgood for the first time. I'll give credit where credit is due regarding the Wings, but this guy acts like the Pens barelly showed up and somehow magically won the game. Also, No mention that the Pens held them to 3 shots in the 3rd period, or that they totally dominated that entire period, save one scramble around the net. That's ok. I think that 3rd period was huge for the Penguins and could end up being what was needed to turn the tide in this series.

Before Datsyuk went out he was averaging a little more than .5 points per game. Babcock had better hope Datsyuk is healthy and effective enough to play because your whole ability to skate depends on the strength of your feet and your ability to move side to side and create things. Datsyuk hasnt played in about 3 weeks and while he is still a very very good player he could end up being very rusty out there and end up turning the puck over on more then one occasion that could lead to numerous scoring chances for the Penguins... !

I dont expect the Wings or the Pens for that matter to get 6 goals in Game 4 tomorrow night. So far all 3 of these games have been very close tight games going into the 3rd period and I expect another one yet again tomorrow night. Neither one of these teams is blowing one another out. The Penguins will be just as desperate tomorrow night as they were last night and have a lot of energy once again to start the game. This isnt going to be a blowout like Game 4 was for the Wings against the Hawks. I said on here yesterday if the Wings were going to earn a split in Pittsburgh they were going to have earn every bit of it and that once again will be the case tomorrow night I believe in another close tight game...

And this has to do with the Wings losing Game 3 because??
-
You can say that but they are also shots that 9 times out of 10 guys like Crosby and Guerin are going to bury and get by the goalie...Never said the Wings were winning on luck either. I gave Osgood credit he has outplayed Fleury and has been great when he has needed to make a key save. The Wings also winning without Datsyuk shows how much depth they do have and how they are capable of not missing a beat if those guys are out of the lineup. But like I said I still think this is going to be a long series. The Penguins despite these first two losses and what you might think still want this bad and it will be very tough for the Red Wings to come into Pittsburgh and steal one of the next 2 games. These two games at Mellon Arena of where I feel that missing Datsyuk out of the lineup can really work in the Pens favor...

Hey the Wings got a 5 on 3 power play for the last 20 seconds as a result of that Malkin brawl with Zetterberg so what more did you want lol...I havent made any excuses here these first two games. The Pens clearly had the advantage playing the back to back games especially with the Wings being short Datsyuk and the bottom line is they failed to take advantage of it. Both games 1 and 2 turned late in the 2nd period as a result of the Wings being able to get that 2nd goal first and take that momentum into the 3rd period and get the goal from Abdelkader in both games. Aside from all that both teams have played I feel dead even from the 1st period to late in the 2nd period in both games with both the Pens and Wings taking over the game in 10-15 minutes spurts. The Pens have had some bad luck hitting a lot of posts especially in game 2, but at the same time Osgood as still stepped up and made a lot of key saves when he has needed too. With that being said, I still think this series is still far from being decided yet. The Pens just need to win this game tonight and the series lead is cut in half once again and then things will get very interesting for Game 4 on Thursday...

You would think not having Pavel Datsyuk for the rest of this series which looks to be the case here is going to catch up to the Red Wings sooner or later at some point in this series the longer it goes...
-
Well most of Guerin's goals are a result of Crosby setting him up which is why he gets a lot of scoring chances. You want to be careful what you wish for because Guerin is a veteran guy and he knows how to finish quality scoring chances more times then not if he keeps getting them on a consistent basis. Crosby is going to create a lot more chances and get a bunch more himself I feel in games 3 and 4 being away from guys like Zetterberg and Lidstrom. I noticed last night he had at least 2 good scoring chances when guys like Stuart and I believe it was Ericsson were out there against him.
-
Bill Guerin had 2 pretty good quality scoring chances last night. He rang one right off the post in front on a great set-up from Crosby that was inches from going in, and Osgood made a pretty good save on him right in front of the net again a few minutes later. Guerin likes to shoot the puck and finds ways to get open a lot of the time so if Crosby keeps giving him quality scoring chances like he has done since he has been here he will find the back of the cage more times then not. Osgood could have easily given up 3 or 4 last night. The Red Wings have been turning the puck over a lot in their own end I notice more then they usually do. If they continue to do that especially in Pittsburgh Osgood will get burned by it at some point...Guys like Crosby and Malkin arent going to keep hitting posts all the time if given enough quality scoring chances...

I agree this back to back schedule did favor the Pens and I for one thought they would at least come away with a split and they just didnt get it done. You gotta give credit to the Wings for finding a way to win 2 games without Datsyuk and hold serve on home-ice. As for your assessment about the Wings just entering the Pens zone all of the time and the Pens havent learned what it takes Im not sure I agree with both of those statements. I think both teams have had spurts in both games where they have carried the play for a period or a good 10-15 minutes and it's gone back and forth. Babcock pointed this out after the game at his press conference. Keep in mind the Red Wings were held without a shot for the last ten minutes of the first period and the first few minutes of the 2nd. I wouldnt call that just entering the Pens zone like they were walking a dog. You gotta give the Pens a little bit of credit there for taking over the last half of the first period and totally shuting down the Wings. Osgood while he has been lucky having shots ring off the posts such as Guerin's and Crosby's he has also stepped up and made some key saves when he has needed too. He stopped Fedotenko in the first period last night when he had a clear shot to the net, he made a save on Malkin after the Wings turned the puck over in their own zone early on in the 2nd that would have made it 2-0 Pens. And also stopped Malkin on Saturday night in Game 1 when he had a clear breakaway that would have given the Pens a 2-1 lead. So while the Red Wings have won the first 2 games and have gotten the timely goals and have done what they have needed to do, I still think these two teams are very close to being evenly matched. We will see what happens tomorrow night with the change of venue and if it can turn this series around for the Penguins...

If you are the Pens, you make this series in to the roughest series you can possibly make it and get the Wings off their game. FINISH EVERY CHECK. CLUB HOLMSTROM WHEN HE IS IN CREASE AREA. GET TRAFFIC IN FRONT OF OSGOOD. Change the dynamics here and have Warrior mentality. You want the Cup, GO GET THE CUP. Anaheim did that to Detroit in their cup year. Pens need to batter the Red Wings same way.

Keep in mind while the Red Wings did win 2 out of 3 games last year here in the Finals they did not do so without having to take it down to the absolute final seconds. They lost game 3 of course 3-2, they won game 4 2-1 but had to kill off a 5 on 3 power play to do so and hold off a huge Pens surge in the final minute to avoid going to overtime. And of course we all know what happened in Game 6 where it was 2-1 Wings going into the 3rd until Fleury sat on Zetterberg's shot and knocked it in off his backside which made it 3-1, and then of course the Pens cut it to 3-2 in the last minute and then Hossa came inches away from tying it up in the final seconds. So while the Red Wings did win here twice last season in the finals keep in mind they had to once again catch a few lucky breaks and live off Fleury once again giving up some bad goals to guys like Hudler and Zetterberg in the 3rd. I see Games 3 and 4 being just like this only this time around I like the Penguins chances a lot better on home ice as long as Fleury plays better, and seeing that this team can take it to Detroit more and has so far these first two games in Detroit unlike last year, and this year Datsyuk wont be in the lineup either.
