Glad I'm not the only one who speaks up here, as I can't believe some of the rebuttals and nonchalance on other threads. Toughness. Now.

Why don't you just admit that putting up a total of one goal vs. St. Louis and Philadelphia is inexcusable? If I told you my picks on the GDT threads were: St. Louis 1, Detroit 0 and said Philly blows out Detroit, you'd tell me I was nuts and that it would never happen... especially if I told you Legace would be removed from the game.

Why would I root for another team? I'm a Wings fan, which is why I refuse to accept this loss to Philadelphia. I understand the fatigue, and I've seen it before, but we should be able to score more than 1 goal in our previous 2 losses against much weaker teams. Both games had us shooting from bad angles, having shots blocked by the defense and looked like carbon copies of our Edmonton games, which I absolutely refuse to relive... as should the team.

We shouldn't be handing anything over to anyone, especially these two teams. We should play just as angry against Edmonton as we were angry upon bowing down to them. And Nashville is our division leader and rival. 'Nuff said. This will be a true measurement stick for the upcoming playoffs. Edmonton will try and knock us around and Nashville will try and establish dominance in the Central.

I would love to see Lang gone. Cleary may have played himself out, and I agreed with you guys about trading Williams after last year instead of re-signing him. We screwed up. We need to get some size and scoring now... or start re-building.

There is no excuse for putting up 1 goal against the worst team in the league, and the worst team at home. They were taken off of their game with a little physical play. It will happen in the playoffs, especially against SJ or Anaheim, and what will your excuses be then?

No need to push the panic button here, but to say the Wings blew it tonight is quite an understatement... getting locked into a 4th seed is a potential disaster, almost guaranteeing a 1st round match-up against San Jose or Anaheim... whom Detroit cannot skate with in a 7-game series.

I thought he covered-up well from taking a potential beating.

Everyone will be tired after a long season, and getting outplayed by the 30th ranked team in the league is unacceptable. A 2-1 loss would have been a disappointment, but a blowout is simply unacceptable. The best part is, we couldn't save face by hitting and roughing the Flyers up if we tried... and that is just embarrassing.

While this has been beaten to death, nothing gets done. It's pretty obvious that Detroit can be taken off of its game simply by playing physically. They didn't slow the game down and carry the puck, they took penalties, tried to hit, and tried to skate with a faster team. Props to the Flyers... they looked like the Oilers of last year's playoffs. Detroit completely blew a golden opportunity to overtake Nashville and establish itself for a shot at a divisional title. They simply cannot skate with San Jose and Anaheim and I will almost guarantee that if this current roster meets them in the first round, they are eliminated in 5 games.

They've already stated that Filppula is going nowhere. Kronwall is locked in, also. The only players that are on display are Williams and Hudler (since Datsyuk won't be traded). I'd love to see Lilja gone, so maybe Williams, Lilja and a pick for Bertuzzi IF he is healthy. This is a huge gamble, so I don't want to see us lose a high-round pick if we can get rid of a few busts (Sammy should stay).
