It's over, Johnny...
-
Wow, I am REALLY not looking forward to playing Chicago or Columbus this season.
-
Perhaps this year can be a rebuilding year? *gag*
-
Hey, when you can get away with the hooking and holding, the clutching and grabbing, and the rough stuff after the whistle, Hal Gill is a GREAT defenseman. He and Orpik in front of the net = success.
-
It's over if Neil isn't signed. Will have to buy out Lidstrom or trade Datsyuk to make room for some tough guys, the likes of Mike Brown, Steve Ott and Sean Avery and rebuild, a la the Blackhawks and Penguins, because they're clearly the teams to beat now... /sarcasm
-
He really sucks on defense. Great forward, though.
-
Truth is the Wings are in trouble, and they need to either sign a few players for cheap that can somehow help (and not like Kyle Calder "helped" on the 2nd line) with some playoff scoring to take the pressure off of Datsyuk, Zetterberg and Franzen, who will be the focus in the playoffs. Maybe some tough guys? I dunno. Last year's team was as close to "it" as you can get in this cap world.

OMFG!!!111!!!1one! SIGN NEIL NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Me, too. The tradition of winning. When the Wings begin to flounder like the Islanders, Leafs, Kings and are finally in a true "rebuilding" mode, we can change buildings, music, add a 3rd jersey (I actually hate this idea) and do all of the little annoying things that expansion teams do that many LGWs insist the Wings jump in on. For example: 3rd jersey: has black in it. Maybe even predominantly black. New goal song: Zombie Nation by KernKraft, because there aren't enough teams that play this song.

Samuelsson MUST be re-signed. Parros is locked up, and Neil will stay with the lowly Senators, so there is no toughness to be signed. We must keep our enforcer.
-
And don't call me "Shirley".
-
Who is "they"? I have not heard this, though I think it is just common sense at this point. The meeting will probably be about a coaching position, perhaps replacing McCrimmon?
-
Ahh, the Storm... good times.
-
Classy, and appropriate. Proud to have you as a fellow Red Wings fan...
-
Congratulations to your team for a great finals series

Good series, Pens. -
No-Trade-Clause for Rafalski means he isn't going anywhere, and good luck convincing him to waive it, LGW GMs.
-
He also said it's amazing how tired you look when you're not scoring goals and the other team is (i.e. game 5). Hossa is the new Lang - Detroit will not win a Cup with him in the line-up.
-
So long, Huds, Sammy, Lebda and Hoss.

Who Else Thought Lidstrom Was Going to Score At the End?
Zion replied to GMRwings1983's topic in General
Nope. Too little. Too late. The Pens deserved this one... -
... as am I. I will sip cheap rum with sugar-free Kool-Aid substitute because I deserve to suffer as the Wings deserve to suffer this loss. In fact, I hope I can suit up in ice hockey gear (yes, ice hockey, not roller hockey gear [f*** you, Hamburg Town Arena for switching to roller hockey early]) and play painfully against younger, faster players who make me look like Chelios trying to catch up to Selanne on that breakaway against Anaheim so I can suffer as the Wings are suffering...
-
Sorry, dude. I love Huddles... not as much as my wife does, but I think he's been terrible. Cleary has been much more effective, but I appreciate you bringing the numbers to our attention...
-
f*** the world. How's that?
-
Stuart had a game that would tell me to put him on a suicide watch (Legace, anyone?), but Lebda just sucks... while Stuart directly was involved in Pittsburgh winning THIS game, I certainly do not blame him for the Wings losing this series...
-
No one gives a f***. It wasn't personal. Fleury showed up. The Wings did not. Pittsburgh won 4 out of 5 games after going down 2-0. They deserved to win. Detroit needs some roster changes, that's all. Great series. Great season.
-
No. Get us some strong, lunchpail-type players who can win in the corners against Anaheim and against a free-reign Gill and Orpik. $7.45 million can buy some good guys...
