Samuelsson was god-awful (interesting term) last night. Everything he dead spelled "f***-up". A drop pass between his legs to Hudler on the left wing... why? What did this accomplish? He was absolutely useless out there, and really seemed to screw up any entry, flow and scoring opportunity. On the power play, he just looked lost. No chemistry, no confidence, no cajones.

Meech was actually worse than Lebda this season. Didn't think that was possible, but you must be off of your rocker to want to put him in against the Ducks than Chelios. If this were a faster team like the Jackets or Oilers, maybe... but against this team? You're out of your mind. He'd get punked worse than Kopecky will be this series.

Wow... just, wow... Agreed, Rafalski gets run in the corners all the time, and can be a turnover machine. Yeah, because that speed will be really effective in the corners and along the boards against Anaheim's 3rd and 4th lines. Good call.

Having been born 50 miles from Detroit and lived half of my life there and in Southern California, I'll say this: f*** THE WEST COAST Other than my family (that stayed behind) and the Mexican food, there isn't a whole lot I miss about the west coast. Traffic, pollution, heat, cost of living and the stupid ******* people that live there make me sick. Great place to vacation, though... I'll be there in June, before I (hopefully) transfer to Italy.

Am I the only one being eaten alive at the thought of having Lilja/Ericsson and Helm/Draper NOT being able to play together? That would be GREAT against the Quacks.

Maltby wasn't very good at even strength, but I still like Malts-Helm-Drapes with Draper taking (and winning) the face-offs on the 4th line. This is going to be a GREAT series...

You lost me at that first sentence. Don't waste your time. ESPN does a great job of dumbing-down sports to our American Idol-worshipping society. Don't ever rely on them for any real sports coverage, or any hockey coverage, for that matter. Here endeth the lesson.

Why did it take 2 pages to get to this post? Well said, YoungGuns. Faceoffs, people... faceoffs. As for Lilja/Ericsson, that would be crucial against the Quacks, but I'm all for Chelios/Ericsson in round 2.

Seriously, though... this is a nice warm-up for the Wings... let's hope their ability to sit on a lead gets better, because that's the only weakness they've shown so far.

Because it's not on Versus and baseball has started, my HD sports channel (shows 1-2 NHL games in HD) is showing s***ty baseball (I can't stand baseball) instead of hockey (the Bruins/Habs game was on tonight) instead of hockey, so I get to watch the Jackets broadcast (sometimes they show both broadcasts, but now that baseball has started...) in STANDARD DEFINITION... what the hell is this crap??? Did I mention I hate baseball?

Usually, the cable provider is spot-on. There are a LOT of Wings games that are THE game in HD for the evening. But since Opening Day, hockey's taken quite the backseat. Ugh.
