Last team I want to face. Hiller is more than competent in goal and the Ducks will basically aim for Zetterberg's neck as soon as Detroit gets a 2-goal lead. Columbus is next and they're close. Steve Mason plus killer team speed make for a repeat of 2006 if the Wings aren't 100% effort.

Listening to WGR550 right now, and it's all doom-and-gloom about tonight's game. I think they're hoping for the jinx and that the Red Wings come out flat and the Sabres get lucky.

Wings will wear the white jerseys (because my wife and I are wearing ours) and the Sabres wear their blue 3rd jerseys (retro). Wings win 21-1 (Franzen lets one in).

You're implying that (at this point) the Ducks beat the Wings in the first round. I'd rather see the Wings play Columbus instead of Anaheim in the first round. No thanks. An early 3-0 lead or 4-0 lead for the Wings = target Zetterberg's back, Franzen's head and all of Lidstrom.

There is always talk of the failures of the team that wins the Stanley Cup in their next playoffs. Since 2003 (yeah, that was us), the team that wins hasn't gotten out of the first round (or even made the playoffs, in Carolina's case). I wish I had forgotten that...
