God bless him. Do something special. Make us proud. Best of luck to you.

AWESOME!!! I have Datsyuk and Lidstrom from a purchase when I was in Detroit (should have gotten the Holmstrom one, too) and absolutely love them! Thanks for the link!

Sammy, Lilja, Ericsson, Ritola spend time with the cup.

Yeah, forgot about Fav-ruh. Everything here in Buffalo is Bills and Sabres - who will suck worse?
-
I'm excited.

Yes, but ESPN doesn't even cover American sports in a way that doesn't piss me off or reek of sucktitude (Monday Night Football, anyone?). I almost never watch ESPN anymore. No hockey. No MMA. All Yankees, Red Sox, Patriots, Kobe Bryant, college football/basketball. Zero interest.

Perhaps a silly thread, but the lack of hockey is killing me, and the NHL Network is showing some Wings games finally... ... are there any former Wings you particularly are glad do not get to share in this year's championship? If so, can you rank them? Off the top of my head: 1) Danny Markov 2) Todd Bertuzzi 3) Mathieu Schneider 4) Bob Lang 5) Brendan Shanahan I think my reasons above are obvious... it's just that there are a few I'm happier about more than others. How about you?

Absolutely sick.

You could see it in Rafalski's face after he scored... we were going to WIN!!! And then... oops.

To piss-off a select few LGWers: /thread

Yes, and it is beneath Red Wings fans... and as important as corporate support is, I wish they'd just give away their tickets instead of not being in their seats. That bothers me more than anything.

Morale? I like the signing, also. Dammit, there is too much friggin' talent on this team!!!
-
I love going to Wings games. I can't possibly see paying so much for the outdoor game, especially when it looks so good in HD!!!
-
Well-put, sir!
-
Poor original post and a bad attempt at covering for it. Original post: "My only regret is that Ryan Smyth couldn't play for us with Fedorov and Bertuzzi in '07"
-
That might be expecting too much...
-
Which is why I'm glad you don't make the lines. Maltby stays. I'd rather see Helm over Kopecky, but I'm open-minded about putting Sammy with Cleary and Drapes. What are the odds Helm and Kopecky are both out of the line-up and either Downey or McCarty (whichever one gets signed) is in?
-
So does this mean that Cacks fans will greatly outnumber the Red Wings Nation?
-
I always liked Manny, despite his fragile psyche. Is that why everyone hates him? I know he didn't leave on the best of terms, but Lang got the same "We're not going to make you an offer" treatment when his contract was up. Did I miss something?
-
NHL Network is the s.... ... yeah, Chelios had a really bad playoffs after the Nashville series. He's just a little too slow now, unfortunately, the high tempo that the Wings are bringing against the Dives is very exciting. Fast and physical. Very noticeable difference from this year's team and last year's.
-
Love/hate, indeed. I thought he played very well with Lidstrom. Knowing what I know now, you're right... Lidstrom really does make his defense partner better. I don't think any of us HATE Shanahan for leaving. I just think we were surprised that he took another offer. I'd have been just as disappointed if Drapes or Malts had left. Was it for the good of the team? Sure... look at our system now that we have our slower-footed forwards gone. But it doesn't mean I don't still hold a soft spot for seeing Shanny in the line-up. Or the Professor. Or Doug Brown. I really should put Feds in 5th, instead of Shanny. And I can't believe I forgot about Hatcher and that OT goal. My wife had just called when OT started, and was on with me when they scored. Needless to say, she was glad she was at work that night...
-
Shanny signing with the Rangers rubbed me the wrong way, so I am only glad a little bit. He's given much more to the history of the team and the three Cups before that, which is why I ranked him 5th.
