He was amazing this playoffs. When Babs says that he feels the Wings were a few healthy defensemen from a Stanley Cup last year, I believe it. Here's to hoping Kronner continues to get better, and stays healthy.

Agreed. He's certainly improved in that aspect. A big knock on him just a few short years ago was that he was getting knocked on his can too easily.

Excellent thread. Second only to a Stanley Cup win: seeing Anaheim miss the playoffs during the last game of the regular season.

My favorite line was hearing that after he picked #96, Scotty Bowman saying "He should have picked #98, because that's the year he's shipped out of here. That was in 97, IIRC.

Don't forget about Stuart knocking Bobby Lang all the way back to Cheeburger Cheeburger last year. I love the pairing with Kronner.

As much as I loathe seeing him on the point on the PP (Jason Williams, anyone?), he was so solid throughout the playoffs, that (at his price tag) must be kept around for a while. He's a great plug-in player, despite his Lang-like tendancies.

Then I guess you've never seen Lidstrom interviewed about his captaincy before. I'll give you the Cliff's Notes version: it isn't guessing to say that Lidstrom isn't as vocal as Chelios.

Just an MLB blackout rule? Good... I have Center Ice, and it is an absolute treat that even when the Wings are on the road, I often still get the FSN Detroit feed with Ken and Mickey, which is great, as it normally shows only the home team's broadcast, something that really burns the soul when the Wings are in Columbus and Nashville 4 times each last year.

It should be at this point. Attention spans and memories are short these days... ... point is, he'll play in the second of back-to-back games, work the youngsters out, and keep our penalty kill accountable on the backend.

This will be his final season, and it will be a fun one. You Chelios haters can kiss my ass. He's been just what our top-notch defense needs in terms of leadership, defensive-smarts and character. He'll transition into a coaching role this year, unless Chicago offers him something better... and they may.

I'm happy about Flip, and am confident that financially this deal looks like Zetterberg's by year 4. I was thrilled when we signed Stuart and shocked when we signed Marion.*******.Hossa. This one I'm less thrilled with, but very satisfied, nonetheless. What a core Kenny has kept together.
