Obviously, you didn't see the game, so please don't post such an ignorant question.

What a *****. The instigator rule needs to go away NOW.
-
Kidding aside, my wife and I follow both teams, and that is what we were saying to ourselves last night, when the Sharks just couldn't finish, but were dominating the game (especially the 3rd period) was, "This looks like a Wings game".
-
Game 6 was a 2-0 shutout. Mikael Samuelsson earned his spot in Ken Holland and Mike Babcock's heart FOREVER, scoring both goals, and explaining why he still sees PP time.
-
Remind you of anyone?

Ducks/Sharks won't play in the first round. If anything, now that Dallas has lost, it would be Stars/Sharks if the Sharks let the 2nd seed slip away. The top 5 seeds in the West are about locked up, save for the 3 seed in the highly-contested Northwest division. Oh, and screw the Ducks, by the way.
-
They should scare us. I've been following them all season, and they're finally playing the way I expected them to with their roster. They won 3 in a row before getting Soupy, and if Ryan Clowe comes back, they're going to have ridiculous depth. Too big, too fast... that's how I would describe them, and now that Marleau is actually trying, the second line looks very good. Torrey Mitchell and Devon Setoguchi have come out of nowhere and earned roster spots. "Little Joe" Pavelski shoots like Paul Kariya in shootouts and Craig Rivet put quite the beatdown on Jason Chimera earlier this season. He's one of my fave D-men on that team. Nabokov is top 5. 'Nuff said. They can take the President's Trophy. Wings don't need it.

Sharks have all but wrapped up the 2 seed with the win last night. If Dallas wins today, and Anaheim loses to Phoenix, the 4/5 seed is still going to be a race.

Wings GM says Chris Chelios likely to be back next year
Zion replied to zombiewing's topic in General
He needs to be that 5th/6th defenseman that works with "the new guy" to get him ready. Ericsson, Meech, but definitely Lilja for the playoffs (assuming Stuart can play). -
My wife showed me that. Good stuff.
-
I hate that. "Hey, Hey Hockeytown" is a classic, and no one uses "Get Ready for This" other than the Wings. I love that. Even my wife commented when we watch "Classic Series" on NHL Network that the goal horn and music haven't changed. I remind her - Detroit puts the "Class" into "Classic", and that is why the music should not change. f*** "Rock n' Roll - Part 2". Gary Glitter is a pedophile, and that song should never be played again. I thought they sing "Cheli's a baby". Either way, he's right: that's stupid. I said to my wife out loud many times last night: "I hate everything about that franchise. They should not even exist." I hate you, Gary Bettman. I hate you.

Mitchell is an awesome player. Definitely didn't try to hurt the guy. It happens... I think the trip (not a boarding major) was a good call. Don't think it warrants a suspension. I still remember Mark Tinordi...

GREAT GDT!!!!! Let's hope Z/Flip (whichever is out) gets some much-needed rest and Meech plays well tonight. Can we put Lebda up forward, bring in Ericsson and/or rotate some of our veteran D out these last few games?
-
Agreed. I'd like to see Z, Dats and Lids get a game or three off before the end of the regular season. Meech at forward is an excellent idea. This is team is too small to be entering the playoffs at less than 100%. Homer and Drapes can take all the time they need.
-
Indeed. Drake has been very good defensively, as has his line. Downey is always a welcome sight, even if he doesn't do much.
-
You hope his groin falls off? Wow... that was harsh! Why did I laugh so hard at that?
-
These players need to be absolutely 100% before coming back. I was excited to see Norris Nick play fairly well (save for a few hiccups), and can't WAIT for Cleary to get back, but TAKE YOUR TIME!!!
-
He's stepping it up, and just in time. The Wings' success can be attributed to: 1) Health of the backline 2) Secondary scoring 3) Goalies not falling asleep due to boredom If the Wings play as bravely as they did last year (and not like in 06), they will fare very well.
-
I hate that guy. Freak injury, huh? Back to reality, folks... Ducks make the playoffs.

Somewhere, Marty McSorley is crying right now...

I'm sorry, but do people still "read" The Onion?

With Lidstrom's return, there needs to be an MVP! chant. Period. I am driving to Toledo to attend a funeral, just attended the Wings/Sabres game, and will be at the Joe twice for the last two games of the month. That said, I'm STILL trying to find time to get tickets and go on Sunday. Someone contact Tunes by T and tell them to help us get the crowd going on an MVP! chant. Lidstrom has earned it. Make it happen, Kenny, err... LGWers!!!
