This is 100% correct. While it is too bad Lidstrom was hurt, that was more accidental (unless it comes out that he suffered a concussion) and Lappy is not worthy of any more punishment (also, the Wings are finished with the 4-game series against the Avs). Lappy is NOT a dirty player (though his high stick on Downey was VERY bad judgment), and that was just an awkward situation.

That's dirty. If the instigator rule went away, Pronger would have to answer the bell for his cheap shots. On the flip side, what's to stop Corey Perry from jumping one of our guys and hiding behind his visor?

They're playing each other very tough. Another divisional game, very physical, already feels like a playoff game and it's only the first period. Imagine the current Wings roster playing these teams... maybe in consecutive order. What do you see?
