Watching NHL Network, and noticed they play almost the same music from the glory days. I love that. If you do not love it, clearly you do not appreciate the history of the past decade (and change), and should go watch Nashville.

Unconfirmed. Fail.

So... Ericsson will be ready to play for (insert underachieving, overpaying team here) next year?
-
Have you noticed that he is stronger than last year? He throws checks with authority and is MUCH harder to knock off of his feet, despite primarily using lateral movement to avoid body checks. I was wondering when the last time he was injured. Hopefully he isn't overplayed this year, and stays fresh for the playoffs, because he has been worth every penny of his contract since signing. He is one of the most exciting players to watch.

Bottom line... you're a cock.

I can't stand Sergei Fedorov. That said, he could provide depth at both forward and defense positions, and that alone makes him worth trading a 6th round pick for.
-
Look, f***ers... Blake is only worth it if LA will give him up at a reasonable price. With a no-trade clause, he should WANT to go to a contender, and if LA wants him to win one, they'll not ask a ridiculous price for him. I'd rather have a depth defenseman, but I completely understand the desire for another forward. We could surely use powerplay depth, but a lot of that has to do with a defenseman. Anything to keep Sammy off of the backline. The question is, how much are the Wings willing to give up to improve their chances?

Are you kidding me? Jordin Tootoo? You should be disgusted with yourselves...

Okay, so there has been a lot of hate mail here, TSN, hockeybuzz, everywhere, with regards to the Teemu Selanne signing... ... I would like to start by saying that I do not hate Teemu. In fact, he is one of the few Ducks I don't hate. While I do not like what he did, he was not under contract... yadda-yadda-yadda. What I would like to discuss is: the Regular Season. How meaningless does the NHL regular season appear now? Detroit is running away with the President's Trophy, but after the trade deadline (when the Ducks pick up Sundin), all of the talk will be how this will be the first repeat championship since 97-98. What can the NHL to address the issue of: the regular season just doesn't matter?

I hate spoiled fans, and Red Wings fans are the absolute WORST.

Happy Birthdays, all around!

Heatley killed his best friend, so yes, he needed a change in scenery.
-
Wings will finish 1st. Ducks will finish 2nd. Wings and Ducks will meet in the Western Conference Finals. This should not surprise anyone.
-
I have always liked Manny Legace. Especially when he played for LA.

Thanks for the update! Wow, practice already??? I thought the guys would get today off, too! That said, Chris Chelios was not at today's practice, because he was still descending from Mt. Everest.

Nice photoshop, but, no. No requests. /thread

I, too, was commenting on how before his back injury how he was looking more and more like the Maltby of old. Bad timing.

That was the kiss of death. Wings out in 4 in the first round now. Thanks, Tommy.

Cory Cross, Kyle Calder, John Cougar Concentrationcamp - "Bears, beets, Battlestar Galactica"

"Fearless Dan" Cleary has definitely been reborn as a hockey player in Detroit. Truly a great story.
-
The Western Conference goes through Detroit and the defending champs. Fear the West.
-
NHL Super-Skills Competition I may not even watch this event. This is a ridiculous idea. There was nothing wrong with the puck-control relay. Usher is hosting?
-
Starting goalies: Detroit - Dominik Hasek Anaheim - Jean-Sebastian Giguere
-
I accept your apology.

There is a lot of stupid s*** being said here. The broken stick argument is about as credible as the bounce off of Lidstrom's stick in Game 5 of the WCF. It happens. Once again, the Western Conference will be decided by these two teams. Pretty hard to bet against that at this point. I can't wait to see what these teams do at the trade deadline, especially if Teemu comes back.
