Glad I'm not the only one thinking: "Gee, why is Lidstrom getting run again by Boll?" and "Wow, since when do we let our star players get hit like that?". Downey stays. Make a sign for tonight's game: Have the Downy teddy bear in a Wings jersey with a mad face. Sign reads: "Downey - Keeps Games Cleaner and Fresher!"

Drove from Buffalo to catch Saturday's game. Got in early, stopped in at Cheli's next to Comerica Park. Had read bad reviews online, but had to make the stop. Wife and I were VERY impressed. Chili was basic, nothing special, but we both enjoyed it, and there were several sauces available: Cholula, my most often used at home (this was a surprise!) and Frank's got a laugh out of me because they're in every Buffalo restaurant. Food was actually really good. Wife got a burger with waffle fries and I got a cajun chicken sandwich. Got there early enough to beat the pre-game crowd. Off to the Joe! Got to the arena nice and early to walk around and check out all of the souvenirs before the pre-game skate. The pre-game skate is my favorite part. You can just walk down to the glass and watch the guys warm up and stretch. Drapes and Langer had a word or two and shared a laugh before leaving center ice and getting to work. The game itself was a big letdown, but I honestly barely noticed. Good crowd and had a great time checking out some of the sticks and used jerseys and signed merchandise among other Wings gear. Definitely will make the drive again this season, schedule permitting.

Wings/Leafs in Toronto is a brilliant idea. For those of you who have not gone to Cheli's... we went around 4:30 and beat the crowd... it was busy when we left but we had already eaten and looked around. Gave us plenty of time to get to the Joe when the doors open, so we can walk around and check out merchandise, play with sticks, etc. before the pre-game skate. For those of you wondering about tickets, we got ours at www.nighttoremembertickets.com. They don't charge the 15% fee that StubHub and other ticket wholesalers do. We went on New Year's Eve last year, and we may have to do that again... that was a great time, also. We stayed at a hotel right down the street from the Joe.

OZZIE! OZZIE! OZZIE! *cue Black Sabbath music*

I always ask this, and I always forget: What time do the doors open? Is it one hour or 1.5 hours? I always catch the pre-game skate.

HELL NO!!! I will be driving from Buffalo for my birthday to see this game... and I'm VERY excited about this Original Six match-up. Central Division games finally mean something now that Detroit no longer OWNS this division. Get pumped, gang... and LET'S GO RED WINGS!!! Best quote ever.

RIP Aflac

He is much more offensive than defensive.

That would be awesome.

I love my Red Wings. They have absolutely earned the 5 day rest, and I hope they had some fun on their time off and got some good skates in here-and-there. Here's to an energetic game and a Red Wings win!!! *raises mug of iced tea*

I hate the Ducks (being from Southern California), and it is good to see them lose. That said, Scott Neidermayer HAS to be on that team for them to have a decent year. Selanne is done and Penner was robbed from them. HUGE losses.

Rex hasn't impressed as much as Ellis or Downey. He and Flip need someone as tough as Franzenstein, but with better hands.

Okay, after all of the hoopla about the Ducks/Jackets game last night, Boll and Moen finally had a go. That should end things. I've kept tabs, and there are a few guys we owe a fight, a few guys we owe a concussion and a guy who needs to be headbutted by the Drake. Please feel free to contribute: Daymond Langkow - (maybe) got "clipped" by Lebda and punched him in the face, giving him a concussion. Lebda was penalized for 2 minutes. Nothing happened to Langkow. Corey Perry - would not remove his helmet (with visor) to fight Dallas Drake. Sucker punched "The Drake" to open the melee before Drake had squared off with him. Joe Thornton - Slashed Zetterberg. Was penalized 2 minutes. Should enjoy another delicious Chelios elbow.

What the f*** is a winded wing?

As soon as I clicked "Post", I knew I had forgotten that gap-toothed piece of s***. Thank you for adding him first to the list. And I love the "hoped the scoreboard fell on the entire team" comment.

One word: Ken-Freakin'-Holland.

QFT. I don't like Columbus, either.

HE NEEDZ TO REPLACE TEH ANKLEZ AND HE SUCKS, LOLZ All LGW banter aside, I said I couldn't see Bertuzzi here. I got over it quickly. I can't see Peter Forsberg here. I'm sorry. /thread

That would be the best thing they could do, rattle Kipper early. SJ did it recently, the Wings should definitely be able to do the same.

Caught the Wings in Anaheim a few years ago, and finally got so frustrated with the ignorant fans that when Cheli hand-passed the puck to another teammate on a PK, the whole group around me stood up looking at the ref, yelling "C'mon!!!" and I instantly snapped "Hand pass is LEGAL in the defensive zone!!!" and that shut everyone up. My wife likes that I can yell things and still keep my entire focus on the action.

Exactly. Rolo probably still has a sore chest from all of the pucks the Wings put there from '06. The Oilers were physical enough to keep the Wings off of the puck and then counter with timely goal scoring. I'll never forget Yzerman and Lilja getting burned, leaving Manny with little to no chance of making the save on their last goal. What an idiotic argument.
